Every neurodivergent child learns, sooner or later, that the world wasn't built with them in mind. The instinct to help them "fit in" — to smooth the edges, quiet the stimming, soften the intensity — usually comes from love. But the research is clear: trying to raise a child out of their neurotype, however gently, doesn't produce a happier child. It produces a child who learns to hide.
Our new blog post is about what autistic and ADHD children actually need to grow into healthy, whole adults. Not to be cured of who they are — but understood, accommodated, and accepted, with someone unmistakably in their corner.

Some of us arrive at a diagnosis sideways.
We go looking for answers about chronic pain, fatigue that sleep never fixes, a gut that won't settle, or a heart that races the moment we stand — and after years of being told it's "all in our head," someone finally says the words: Ehlers-Danlos.
EDS is a group of inherited connective tissue conditions that affect the whole body, not just "bendy joints." And for our community especially, it matters: hypermobility and EDS turn up remarkably often alongside autism and ADHD. One diagnosis so often leads to another.
Our new blog post, "Held Together Differently," is a long, gentle look at what EDS really is — the causes, the thirteen subtypes, how it's diagnosed, the daily realities people quietly carry, and the specialists and supports (including here in Adelaide) that can help. It's written for our community, without the jargon.
