CLIENT TESTIMONIAL FROM 13 YEARS AGO: “I would just like to say that I have had huge admiration for you from DAY 1. You are so professional... and fit... and brilliant!

You may be aware from my health fitness sheet thing that I have arthritis in my lower back, but the exercises you have shown me have been hugely beneficial.

I’m sure I have toned are already in the sessions I have already done, and yes, I am aching today from yesterday’s (more challenging but brilliant) session!

I am much more aware of my posture now too. I hope I see you again soon.

PS I love your wit and sense of humour as well!”

++++++++

Aww shucks 🥹

Whilst this IS a glowing testimonial from a past Pilates client, I can’t help but feel sorry for the past version of myself who would’ve CLUNG onto these words because she didn’t value herself or what she had to offer – in the slightest! 😅

Putting SO MUCH weight on the words from others is a common trait amongst those of us with low self-worth, and I for one used to LIVE for the day I’d get just even an ounce of validation from someone to make all of that hard work behind-the-scenes, worthwhile 🤏

Yes, the words of others’ matter. And, yes, it’s great to share client feedback 🙌

But, I also don’t want your day to be ruled or indeed ruined by the things that other people say about you 😏

Life is SO much better for me now that I’ve built up my self-worth, and now that I recognise myself (without the need for validation from others) 💁‍♀️

Thanks for reading.

Yours in self-worth,

Claire xx

Throwing jt back to this Burlesque gem from last year 💎 I loved the routine, and the costume I upcycled! It was super fun 🤩 💃

The Kinda Chic trend is a light-hearted way of sharing back stories, tough transitions and hard-earned successes. I for one, know that PAST me would’ve felt a little triggered 😩

I struggled to view other people’s accomplishments in a positive light

I’d have one of the following responses:

1️⃣ “Why can’t I feel that way about myself?” – here, I’m COMPARING myself to her, and basically tearing myself down in the process

2️⃣ “Oh, she’s just showing off” – this is good old CYNICISM, which is basically jealousy in disguise. I wasn’t annoyed at her for sharing. I was annoyed at myself for not being able to

3️⃣ “Oh, that must be nice” – and, off I go DEFLECTING those emotions again, denying myself the opportunity to feel something my body is desperately wanting me to address

4️⃣ “I have nothing like that to celebrate” - this is SHAME at play, and it’s the most painful, because it’s not about anyone else at all. It’s just me, alone with the belief that I simply didn’t have anything worth celebrating. Spoiler: I did. I just didn’t know how to in an authentic way

None of those reactions are about the person/what they posted. They were about MY relationship with my own self-worth

The Kinda Chic content is like a mirror, reflecting back to me the things I needed to work on 🪞

It wasn’t until very recently that I actually felt PRIDE for myself, all by myself, and, now when people share their own successes - they hit very differently 🏆

If any of those responses felt uncomfortable, that’s not something to be ashamed of. That’s just where you are right now, and that’s exactly where I was before I started doing this work.

The difference between then and now? I can read a Kinda Chic post and feel genuinely happy for the person who wrote it, and then quietly feel proud of myself too 🥹

That’s what’s waiting for you on the other side.

DM me the word VALIDATE, and let’s chat about how I can help you build up your self-worth, learn how to validate yourself, and go out into the wide world feeling proud of yourself, instead of feeling triggered by the next social media success trend 💁

When it comes to validating children, the script is most definitely changing (for the better 😅).

I talk about, and give examples of the difference between how baby boomers praised their children, and how modern parents are doing it, so take a read and let me know what you think 👍🏻

For a long time I couldn’t have told you what life on the other side of external validation looked like. Because I’d never been there 🥹

But I know now. And it’s worth every single uncomfortable step it takes to get there 🪜

If any of these slides stopped you in your tracks, that’s not a coincidence, my friend 😉

DM me the word VALIDATE and let’s get you started ⭐️

Waiting in the wings. Sexy Silk was about to happen! 💃

Genuinely one of my favourite photos from the Burlesque live show. Not staged, not professionally - just a fellow dancer catching us seconds before we walk on stage 😍 📸
