Did you know two of our team members are sisters? 👭
Between clients, you’ll often find us squeezing in a quick challenge, laugh or brain teaser! 😆
This time, sisters Alison (our physiotherapist) and Lydia (our clinical psychologist) took on the classic “chair challenge.” The rules? Sit on the chair without moving your feet…
🧠 Lydia: tries to figure it out…
💪 Alison: simply picks up the chair, places it behind her and sits down.
Looks like the oldest sister is claiming the title of “best problem solver” today! 😂🏆
These little moments of fun help us reset, recharge and keep our energy high, so we’re ready to bring our best to every family who walks through our doors.
Now it’s your turn… would you have solved it like Alison, or been left scratching your head with Lydia? 👇

🎈 “What if Pennywise comes to my house?” 😨
Recently, our psychologist Lydia has supported several children who have developed a strong fear of Pennywise from IT. While adults might know he’s just a movie character, fears can feel very real for children.
One of the ways Lydia helps is through imagery and imagination-based strategies. Together, children learn to change the picture in their minds, create safe endings, and build confidence so scary thoughts don’t feel quite so big.
Whether it’s a clown, monsters, storms, or something else entirely, anxiety and fears are common and there are gentle, evidence based ways to help!
💙 Big feelings deserve support.

👅 Let’s talk lisps!
Not all lisps are created equal - in this reel, we break down the difference between an interdental lisp and a lateral lisp.
🧠 An interdental lisp (think “thun” for “sun”) is developmentally normal up until around age 4. But a lateral lisp (where air escapes over the sides of the tongue) is not a typical part of speech development and usually won’t resolve on its own.
💬 If your child has a lateral lisp, it’s a good idea to get support from a speech pathologist early on.

💪 Core Strength Series – Part 2 with Physio Nat!
Who says strengthening your core has to be boring? 🙌 Using simple rings from Kmart, Nat demonstrates a fun exercise that challenges the tummy muscles, coordination and body awareness.
✨ Lie on your back with your legs up in the air
✨ Place the rings around one foot.
✨ Reach forward with your arms to transfer each ring from one foot to the other. Head lifted off the ground to activate that core!
This exercise is a great way to activate those core muscles while also encouraging control, coordination and endurance. Plus, using simple equipment and turning exercise into a game makes it much more fun! 🎉
Looking for ideas to help your child build strength and confidence through play? Our physios can tailor activities to your child’s individual needs.

🐧🍲 Last week, our physio Vicky transformed the gym into a giant Penguin Stew obstacle course (because we didn’t have a wombat toy for Wombat Stew! 😆).
Our little adventurers climbed, balanced, crawled and jumped their way around the course, collecting ingredients along the way before adding them to the pot in the middle to make the stew.
Activities like this are a fantastic way to build strength, balance, coordination and confidence…all while keeping therapy fun and engaging. Because when kids are having fun, they don’t even realise how hard they’re working! 💙

🌏✨ Happy International Day of Play!
At Walky Talky, we know that play isn’t just fun - it’s how children learn, explore and build confidence. And when play gets bodies moving, the benefits are even bigger. 💙
Active play helps little ones:
🤸 Build strength, balance and coordination
🏃 Develop fundamental movement skills
🧠 Support learning, concentration and confidence
💤 Sleep better and feel their best
❤️ Strengthen bones, muscles and healthy hearts
From tummy time and climbing to dancing, chasing bubbles and playground adventures, movement doesn’t need to be complicated. It just needs to be fun!
Our physios love helping children and families find playful ways to build skills, confidence and independence. Because the best therapy often looks a lot like play. 🌈
So today, we’re celebrating the joy of movement and all the incredible things children learn through active play. 🎉
What’s your little one’s favourite way to play? ⬇️
Building core strength doesn’t have to mean fancy equipment! 💪
In this video, our physiotherapist Nat demonstrates some simple core-strengthening activities using cones and rings that you can pick up from Kmart.
One of the best things about these activities is how easily they can be adapted. Nat shows how to make the task easier for children who are just starting out, and how to increase the challenge as their strength and confidence grow.
Strong core muscles help children with posture, balance, coordination, endurance and gross motor skills. They’re the foundation for so many everyday activities, from sitting at the table and concentrating at school to running, jumping and playing with friends.
If you’re looking for fun, practical ways to help your child build strength and confidence, our physio team can assess your child’s needs and create activities that are tailored just for them. 🌟

13 people, lots of different skills, and one thing in common – we genuinely love working with children and their families.
From physio, speech pathology and psychology sessions, to answering emails, booking appointments and keeping everything running behind the scenes, every person in this photo plays an important role.
We’re incredibly lucky to have a team of 6 physiotherapists, 3 speech pathologists, 1 psychologist, 1 therapy assistant, 1 office manager and 1 admin assistant who are all passionate about helping kids reach their goals.
This little team has grown a lot over the years, and we’re so proud of the supportive, caring and fun workplace we’ve built together. 💙

Not every child can hop on a standard bike and every child deserves the chance to ride 🚲💛
Yesterday our physio team attended a fantastic PD with TADWA, learning more about modified bikes and adaptive cycling options for children with bike riding goals.
Finding the right bike is about so much more than just mobility - it’s about participation, confidence, independence and community inclusion. Our physios work closely with families to help find options that truly suit each child’s needs.
And yes… the team absolutely loved testing the bikes out around the park 😄
