Week 21

5 months in the program
0.2 whole milk
4 ml Peanut Solution D

We had another good week, although hopefully Gianna won’t get sick, as Tala isn’t feeling very well. We are three weeks away from starting egg treatment, which is very exciting. I am praying she’ll have a smooth journey with that ☺️☺️

~Look up, life is amazing with Him 💕~
Each day, we feel God’s grace and mercy.

Week 20 🥳🥳

Gianna had 0.2 ml of whole milk today and 4 ml of peanut.

She came to the clinic dressed in her unicorn princess dress and a tiara, giving big smiles to her nurses and Dr Tom. It was a quick visit; we got home after an hour with the kids just asking for more snacks.

Psalm 103:2-4 (NIV): "Praise the Lord, my soul... who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion."

Week 19

A quiet week ☺️☺️

Gianna seems to have tolerated her doses well this week, and hopefully, it continues. She's turning 3 next month, and she's definitely starting to show some changes - the very lovely 3-year-old tantrums 🙈🙈🙈. She's more vocal and has a quirky personality; it's good to see her thriving 💕
She's stronger than me in many ways, and she's the boss of the house 😅

Whole milk 0.1 ml
Peanut 2 ml
Gianna had actual milk today. She transitioned well and was a bit cheeky in the waiting room. She also updosed to 2 ml of peanut solution. What a big milestone!
We were advised that now she is protected against accidental exposure with the same amount, and as we increase her dosage, so does her protection. How amazing. It's truly unbelievable! We lived for nearly three years with no cow's milk, and today that changes.
We are over the MOOOOOn! 😉😉

It's not fully a quiet week, but Gia had some good days. She had a swollen upper lip the other day - maybe she licked her lips after a dose; I'm not really sure. It subsided with an antihistamine. Other than that, she was fine and pretty much happy and active. I think she's starting to get annoyed having to put lip ointment/Vaseline every morning haha; she rolls her eyes at me when she sees me holding it 😅. She's been very tired, though. Every nap time, she would just fall asleep quickly.
We have one week to go before actual milk. Gotta stay in good shape ☺️
God is good, all the time 💕

Week 16

It's our last milk solution - 8 ml, and we moved to Solution D for Peanut - 1ml.

A big day for Gia, but so far, so good. She usually does well on escalation day, then shows some symptoms days after. I am hoping this is a quiet week.

On our next updose, it will be the ACTUAL MILK, not a solution anymore! Oh, my goodness!!! I don't know what to feel 🥺🥺🥺, just a mix of excitement and anxiety, so much uncertainty… but as our allergist said, we aren't starting from zero. This is our goal. We have reached the first big milestone. I hope she likes the taste.

Our egg OIT will start when Gia is stable with the milk transition - at least a fortnight. Geez, so many great news, and we feel God's presence in each and every step 💕💕

Week 15
Quite a rough start for Gianna… She had a swollen lower lip over the weekend due to her chapped lips getting irritated by the solution. She got a bit better for a few days but had a vomiting episode yesterday; she had no other symptoms otherwise. Today, while having her snacks, she spat out her apple and looked like she was going to throw up. I gave her water, and she felt better. Now I will make her lunch and dinner more simple and easy to chew. Hopefully, it will help with her oral sensitivity. I just hope she is not getting irritated internally; the last thing we want is inflammation.
Praying for more good days, God is always with us 💕

Week 14

Moved up to 6 ml milk and 4 ml peanut

It's our last Peanut Solution C and will be changing to Solution D in a fortnight 🤩

Gianna did well today. Although the concentrations were getting higher, her body was tolerating the doses well. The only thing we noticed was her getting a bit more tired some days, which she compensates by sleeping longer - usually during her nap time. She ends up staying a bit later at night, but I don't mind it at all. As long as no reactions are happening, then all is well ☺️

We also got cleared to start Egg OIT!!! Woohoooo! So excited! We will finish these 3 allergens (milk, egg, and peanut) and have a few months' rest for Gia before tackling wheat. Wheat is a more complex issue for us due to having a DQ8 gene (gluten sensitivity), so we are looking for ways with our team to not cause inflammation in Gia's tummy, and their recommendation is SLIT. I'll share more on that next time 😉

God is truly amazing 💕

Week 13

It's been very quiet these past two updoses. I don't want to jinx it, but Gia's been adjusting well with these new solutions. Hopefully, it continues ☺️☺️. God is good!

Gia has been more aware of what she can't eat, but sometimes she gets confused, especially when I make similar snacks at home. She loves pancakes and muffins, and I have to explain how hers have different ingredients. I have to make sure she understands why Mama has to check first before she eats something.

And more good news, I am very, very grateful for my family here in Perth. We managed to have two gatherings that were allergen-free!!! Can you imagine that!!? ☺️☺️. They asked about Gianna's allergies and bought ingredients that I use to make sure everything is safe. Gia didn't eat, as she has her own, but the point is, we were all having fun, worry-free! I can't forget how we had such a great time. The kids were very well-versed in what to do after eating; they were very careful still. But to see Gianna freely play in someone else's house without me running around following her, my heart melts. We stayed until it was nearly late at night, and Dario even said that's the longest we've been out. Haha. We are so, so grateful, and honestly, it's a testament to great love for my child. We love you dearly, fam ❤️❤️ We will never forget the support and understanding! 💕 May God bless you all ☺️☺️

Week 12

Even with setbacks, we were able to increase our little girl's dosage today. She did well and has been off antihistamines for a while now. Her reactions seem to be getting milder and milder - praying this stays stable.

We met our new doctor, Dr. Wong, and our lovely Nurse L. They were so approachable, and from my experience yesterday, they made me feel so much better. Dr. Wong was very interested in meeting Gianna and learning about her journey.

God's grace and wisdom, we have been blessed ❤️
