La Punk Project
The future of living lightly. Resets for modern families.
This is a story about friendship and a joint love of travel, fashion, design and beautiful natural textiles. When Natalie Knoll and Macayla Chapman met in Sydney in 2012, little did they know that they were starting an Antipodean success story that would take their resort wear from Australia and New Zealand to the floors of Harvey Nichols, Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods and Four Seasons Resorts. What if the biggest influence on your family’s health isn’t what happens at the doctor’s office, but what happens at home?
The products on your bathroom shelf. The quality of your sleep. The choices you make every day without even noticing.
Six people under one roof, making hundreds of decisions each week. Not perfectly. Just more consciously than before.
Because the future of our family’s health won’t be shaped by one dramatic change. It will be shaped by a thousand small ones.
This is our reset.

We are incredibly lucky to live by the ocean. There’s something about the scale of it that reminds us how precious our world is. It also evokes the concept known as the ripple effect. That small choices feel meaningful when shared and that even the simplest reset can spread outward and affect many.
What reset dod you make today?
Today is World Refill Day and we’re championing one of our first resets: the simple coffee cup swap.
Australians use around 4 million takeaway coffee cups every day. Most end up in landfill and because they are lined with plastic, they are not accepted in most council recycling systems and rarely composted in Australia. They are designed to be used for just minutes.
Research published in the Journal of Environmental Science & Technology estimates that a person drinking one small 300ml takeaway coffee each day from a plastic-lined cup could ingest approximately 363,000 microplastic particles every year.
Choose reuse over single use.

Our inspiration comes from many aspects of culture and lifestyle. We love beautiful furniture, architecture, vintage, antiques. Objects that were made to last. Not just trend driven.. Designed to last. Beautiful yet functional.

There is something about being in the sea that resets everything before the day even starts. No agenda, only the moment before you surface.
What is your morning ritual?

We don’t think the future is about giving things up.
We think the future is about finding better materials, better design, better ingredients and better systems.
We are excited to pool our community knowledge and find out how we can choose better.
My reset was all encompassing. I went back to university and did a Master of Sustainability at the age of 45. What I discovered was far beyond the lectures and the essays, but in fact was a fresh outlook on my way of life, what I brought into our home and how our family lived. Our home was our precious space, time spent together there was an escape from the noise of fast paced modern life, and we had to make changes. At first, I thought I had to completely upend everything, but eventually, and as I progress every day, I realise this isn’t about being perfect and sacrificing all the fun and wonderful things we love but more about consciously choosing, and ultimately fitting those changes seamlessly into our lives.

Cressida and I kept returning to the idea of reset.
The quiet return to what matters. The things we bring into our homes. The rituals we live with every day. The small choices that stay with us over time.
La punk project - the reset club is simply a community space to share these things together.
A little lighter.
A little slower.
A little more conscious.
