Well… that escalated quickly 🤣

I had a client reschedule this morning, so suddenly found myself with a few unexpected hours up my sleeve.

Naturally I used them responsibly… cleaned the house, did some laundry, got everything sorted 👏

Then I popped into Joondalup because I needed a fry pan.

A FRY PAN.

Anyway… I have a new wardrobe. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

I’m not entirely sure where the fry pan went wrong, but here we are.

Please tell me I’m not the only person who goes to the shops for ONE completely boring household item and somehow comes home having made a major life purchase?! 😂

SPRING!!! 🌸☀️

I cannot tell you how happy I am to officially say goodbye to winter 😂

First day of spring and I’m having a pretty cruisy day at home today… with one sneaky client/friend popped into the salon this morning because Tuesdays are the only day that works for her 🥰

Other than that, not much happening here — and I’m actually quite happy about it.

Sunshine, spring, a quiet day and September officially underway 🌸

I have a feeling this is going to be a very good month. 🖤

Anyone else ridiculously happy winter is OVER?! 😂☀️

So… I took the weekend off social media 😂

I wasn’t feeling 100%, so I did something I’m not always very good at… absolutely nothing.

And I think I needed it.

The last few weeks have been a LOT — in the best possible way. Business has been amazing, this little page has gone absolutely bonkers, there are exciting new things happening behind the scenes… and I think my brain finally went, okay lady, enough 🤣

So today I’m keeping things quiet.

My planner is open, September is staring at me 👀 and I’m doing a little bit of planning without putting pressure on myself to conquer the entire world before lunchtime.

Sometimes running a business means pushing.

And sometimes it means knowing when to slow down for a minute. 🖤

Plot twist… I actually run more than one business 🤣

Sitting at the last school assembly of the year this morning and I’ve just realised I’m wearing hubby’s business hoodie 😂

Which reminded me that I don’t think I’ve ever really mentioned on here that behind the scenes, I also help run his roofing business.

So when I’m not waxing, doing facials, answering Kaikovae messages, ordering stock, doing socials, being CEO and dreaming up whatever I’m going to add to the salon next… there’s another business in the background that I help keep ticking along too 🤣

Add four kids and general life chaos into the mix and honestly… this explains a lot 😂

Anyway — last assembly of the year DONE 🙌 and now I’m swapping roofing-wife/admin mode for beauty therapist mode because I’m back-to-back today with waxing, a lash lift and a facial 🖤

Back to my regularly scheduled programming today… 😂

Book Week crisis = survived.
Costumes = sorted.
Mum guilt = temporarily under control. 🤣

So today I can return my attention to the other child that constantly needs something from me… Kaikovae Beauty. 😂

It’s a salon day today and I’m actually looking forward to getting back in my little room and doing what I do best. 🖤

It still makes me laugh that I can spend one day running around stressing about Book Week and the next be back in here waxing, doing brows, talking skin and pretending I have my life completely together. 🤣

Some days I’m definitely better at one of those than the others. 😂

Can we talk about BOOK WEEK for a minute?! 😫🤣

I didn’t post yesterday because I was on a mission.

A mission fuelled almost entirely by anxiety, mum guilt and the sudden realisation that my children required Book Week costumes. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Girl… I am just NOT that mum.

You know the mums who somehow create an entire character out of cardboard, hot glue and things they casually had lying around the house?

I admire you.

I respect you.

I am not you. 🤣🤣

Dress-ups in general stress me out. I hate dress-up parties. I avoid them like the plague and apparently becoming a mother did absolutely nothing to change this personality trait. 😂

But after yesterday’s mission…

WE HAVE COSTUMES. 🙌

Are they going to win awards for creativity? Probably not.

Will my children be clothed and vaguely resemble characters from books?

YES.

And frankly, I’m calling that exceptional parenting. 🤣👏

Please tell me I’m not the only mum who sees “Book Week” on the school calendar and immediately feels their blood pressure rise. 😂

Fresh hair and now it’s time to pretend I’m a CEO 🤣💻

Started my Monday morning in the best possible way — getting my hair done. 🥰

Now I’m home, coffee is happening and it’s time to switch into business mode.

No clients today, but plenty happening behind the scenes at Kaikovae — admin, numbers, messages, stock, planning and working through the list of things I’ve been mentally adding to all week. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

There’s also a brand new treatment sitting there waiting for me to finish getting everything ready to launch… 👀

I actually really love these days.

A little bit of looking after myself first, then a few quiet hours working on the business instead of in it. 🖤

Right… fresh hair, coffee, laptop.

CEO mode activated. 🤣☕️💻

Saturday = FULLY BOOKED 🥰

Today is one of those days that reminds me just how much this little business has changed.

A full Saturday of beautiful clients coming through my door, doing the treatments I love, in a business that I built from scratch. 🖤

Lately I’ve been so busy looking at what’s next — new treatments, training, goals, growing the page, all the behind-the-scenes stuff — that sometimes I forget to look at what’s already happening.

Fully booked Saturdays used to be the goal.

Now they’re becoming normal. 🥹

That’s pretty amazing 🤩

So today the coffee will be flowing, the wax pot will be on and I’ll be spending my Saturday doing what I love. 🥰

Today’s a very different kind of Friday 🥰

Just one brow appointment for me this morning and then I’m clocking off early because I have somewhere much more important to be.

One of my kids is performing in a big choir performance today, so I’m off to watch! 🥰

One of the things I genuinely love about having my little business at home is being able to have days like this.

Do a brow, shut the salon door and go be Mum. ❤️

It’s been a HUGE couple of weeks around here, so a cruisy Friday with one client and some family time sounds pretty bloody good to me.

And yes… I’ll probably find an excuse to take the new car. 🤣🤣🚗

What a difference a few hours can make… from this morning’s perimenopause pity party to THIS. 🤣

I’ve worked really, really hard lately.

I’ve smashed business goals I genuinely wasn’t sure I’d reach, pushed myself outside my comfort zone, invested in new things, taken some pretty big leaps and just kept going.

And behind the scenes, we’ve been working hard as a family too.

Today I got to pick up my beautiful new car and I’m feeling incredibly proud of where life is right now. 🥹

Of course none of this happens alone. I have an amazing husband beside me who works incredibly hard, supports every crazy idea I come up with and backs me every step of the way. 🥰

Sometimes we’re so busy chasing the next goal that we forget to stop and look at how far we’ve already come.

Today feels like one of those stop-and-appreciate-it moments. 🖤

I’m so proud of us.

…and I am VERY obsessed with my new car. 🤣🥰🚗
