You know that thing where you want to smell a bar of soap but it’s hidden in a box, or shrink-wrapped in plastic? We didn’t love that either.
So each bar gets two pieces of recycled paper — one wraps two-thirds of it, one holds that in place — leaving just enough window to see, smell, and still keep it off the shelf and out of everyone’s hands.
The pattern is a small nod to what’s inside. Topography lines for the earthy/woody ones. Stone speckles for the terrazzo bars. Ripples for the swirled ones. Kept it simple and monotone on purpose — the bar’s the main character, the wrapper is just there to say a little about it before you open it.
Simple, practical, and quietly doing its job.

You asked, so here it is — how we wrap our round shampoo bars.
Just a humble coffee filter. It wraps around the bar beautifully, it’s breathable, compostable, and sometimes the simplest solution really is the best one.

Thoughtful packaging is part of the handmade experience.
When you order from our online shop, your bars are carefully bundled with cotton twine and packed into 100% recycled kraft padded mailers with fibre cushioning (up to about 10 bars). By arranging soaps into compact “flat packs” we’re able to protect them during transit without relying on oversized boxes or excess filler packaging.
It’s not flashy, and we’ve never been drawn to elaborate packaging trends. It’s simply a reflection of how we approach everything we make: simple, thoughtful, practical, and crafted with care.
Because sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference.

Okay, we can’t control the weather, but we can make your shower feel a whole lot cooler. 😎
When the forecast says ☀️🌡️🥵, we reach for these minty favourites.
Our ice- and snow-themed soaps, including Snowmelt, Frozen Lake, and Frost, along with our cooling Arctic Rain shampoo bars and Clover Hill soap, are packed with peppermint, spearmint, eucalyptus, and menthol to create a fresh, cooling sensation that’s become a summertime ritual for many of our customers.
Warning: may result in extra-long showers and spontaneous declarations of “Ahhhh, that’s better.” ❄️🚿
Pro tip: Finish with a quick cold rinse for an extra-refreshing boost.
Last year, one customer was completely hooked on our Snowmelt soap and stocked up for the entire summer. It may sell out again this year! 😉

People often ask which soaps are “for men” and which are “for women.” The funny thing is, scent preferences rarely follow those rules according to my 10+ years of soap making experience.
Some of our most popular bars with women feature woody, earthy, minty, or smoky notes. And plenty of men gravitate toward florals, sweet, citrus, and lighter scents. And then there are those who skip scent altogether and reach straight for our unscented bars.
Today’s photo happens to feature soaps with more woodsy, minty, and earthy profiles — (from top to bottom) High Park, Arctic Rain shampoo bar, Stonewood, Midtown, Frost, and Pure Charcoal + Salt — but I don’t really think of them as men’s soaps.
They’re simply different scent experiences. The best soap is the one you can’t stop picking up and smelling... or not smelling.
What scent profile do you find yourself reaching for most often?

Creator’s notes — Midtown Soap!
My life in Toronto started in Midtown.
As a student, I spent a lot of time around Davisville, Mount Pleasant, and Yonge Street. Everyday after classes, I’d wander the neighbourhood, stopping at coffee shops, browsing unique stores, and occasionally treating myself to a restaurant meal that felt like a big splurge on a student budget.
Midtown has changed a lot since then, but I still have fond memories of those early years and all the new experiences that came with them.
This soap is inspired by the balance I associate with the area: glass office/condo towers, quiet tree-lined streets, and the steady rhythm of city life. Bright bitter citrus notes bring freshness, while soft woods and frankincense add a calm, grounded feeling. The dark slate blue base reflects that contrast between urban energy and comforting green spaces.
A small tribute to the neighbourhood where my Canadian story began.
