I’m working on some things behind the scenes! ✨

While I’m away on vacation, I’ll be working on finishing up moving The Bare Hiatus to a brand new booking system, along with launching a new website (coming later on).

The main goal is to make booking appointments easier, smoother, and more user friendly for everyone.

As part of the transition, clients with upcoming appointments may receive booking confirmations or notification email as your appointments are transferred into the new system. Not to worry my friends, this is completely normal and doesn’t mean anything has changed with your appointment.

Apologies in advance as there may be a few small hiccups while everything is being transferred over, but I’m hoping to have everything up and running between August 1 and 7, and I will post when it’s officially launched for clients to book themselves on the new booking module.

No action is needed from you at this time. I’ll share another update once everything is live but at the current clients can continue booking through the existing Square booking website.

Some things to be aware of with the new booking system.

•Appointment confirmations will now be sent by only email instead of text.
• The new waitlist will automatically notify you when an appointment becomes available.
• When booking multiple services, simply choose your main service first, then add any additional services from the Add-On section.
• During the transition you may receive duplicate confirmation emails while appointments are being transferred. This is expected and doesn’t mean you’ve been booked twice.

☀️ Out of Office ☀️

The Bare Hiatus will be closed from Wednesday, July 29 through Tuesday, August 11 for summer vacation.

A few quick updates before I head away:
• My schedule is currently full until I leave, I’m now booking into late August and September (my booking calendar is open 90 days in advance).
• Messages will be returned as soon as possible while on vacation. Thank you in advance for your patience!
• My condensed summer schedule will continue throughout August while the kids are home for summer break and I’m not accepting new clients at this time.
• Rhonda’s final day at The Bare Hiatus is July 24. She’ll be opening her new home studio, Glow by Rhonda, in August for all spray tanning services. Glow By Rhonda

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that as of July 28, 2026, I will no longer be offering spray tanning services at The Bare Hiatus.

This is definitely a bittersweet change, but it also feels like the right one. Businesses grow and evolve, and mine is taking me in a different direction. While I’ll miss seeing all of my spray tan clients, I’m also excited for the future.

The good news is that spray tanning isn’t leaving, it’s simply moving!

Rhonda will be continuing to offer glowy spray tans from her l new home studio in Cold Lake north under her business, Glow by Rhonda (). Many of you already know Rhonda from her time here at The Bare Hiatus, and I’m so happy she’ll be able to continue caring for both her existing clients and anyone looking for a gorgeous tan.

Her pricing will remain the same as our current spray tan pricing, and you can continue to expect the personalized service and attention to detail that you’ve come to know from us.

Rhonda’s last day at The Bare Hiatus will be July 24, and spray tanning services at our studio will officially end on July 28.

If you have a spray tan appointment booked for August or beyond, we will be reaching out to you personally to discuss your appointment and help make the transition as smooth as possible.

A little studio update from Alesha ✨

At this time, I will no longer be accepting new clients for my personal books. Existing client bookings are still being accepted for clients who have been seen within the past 6 months.

The waitlist will remain open to everyone, however current clients will be prioritized as I work through a backlog from time away and continue operating on a more intentional and limited schedule this season.

As many of you know, The Bare Hiatus is a small, home based studio, and I want to ensure I’m continuing to provide the level of care, attention, and experience that aligns with both my standards and the studio itself. With summer approaching, I’m also choosing to be more intentional with my time and availability where I can.

At this time, I don’t have a set timeline for reopening new client bookings.

Rhonda will still be accepting both new and existing clients for spray tans ✨

Hi— Alesha here! Just a quick heads up about some upcoming dates I’ll be away from the studio.

I’ll be on vacation April 18–25, and then away again May 20–June 1 while visiting family in Ontario.

Appointments before these dates will fill up, so if you’re hoping to get in before I’m away, I recommend booking your appointment sooner rather than later to secure a spot.

A little education to go with these results 🤍

Not every leg wax will look exactly like this, and that’s important to understand.

These legs have been waxed consistently a few times and the hair was at an ideal length, allowing for more even removal. Shaving creates mixed hair growth cycles, which can lead to uneven results at the time of waxing. With consistent waxing, hair growth gradually aligns and results become smoother over time.

Skin prep and aftercare matter too. Consistent hydration and gentle exfoliation in the days after a wax help prevent ingrown hairs. Exfoliation can be continued up until a few days before your next appointment, then paused, especially for sensitive skin types. Healthy, hydrated skin allows for cleaner waxing and better results.

After your first wax, especially if you’ve been shaving, regrowth may appear sooner and uneven. With regular waxing, most clients begin to notice new growth around 2 to 3 weeks, with softer, finer regrowth over time.

Consistency is key, especially if you want your best results heading into spring and summer.

As my studio and business have grown over the past year, I’ve continued to invest in quality products, education and training, a fun and refreshed space, and expanded treatments to ensure my services align with modern techniques and evolving industry practices.

With this in mind, and in response to increased supplier and operating costs, pricing adjustments will take effect February 1, 2026. Swipe through for updated pricing and new service listings effective February 2026.

Appointments booked prior to January 1 for February or March will be honoured at current pricing. Any new bookings made after December 31 for appointments taking place in February or later, as well as any modifications or reschedules to those appointments, will reflect updated pricing, regardless of what is displayed at the time of booking.
