It was just a little slip…

The body butter, however, experienced the longest two seconds of its life. 😅

Thankfully, everyone’s okay.

Was I skeptical about putting beef tallow on my skin? Absolutely.

Now I’m the person making it from scratch.

Life comes at you fast 😂

This is the first step in making our Frankincense Blend Tallow Body Butter.

We slowly infuse real frankincense resin into grass-fed tallow and organic jojoba oil for 30+ hours before straining. Once it has cooled, we add our blend of essential oils and whip it into the finished body butter.

No fragrance oils. Just real ingredients, a little stirring, and a whole lot of patience. 🌵

I almost didn’t post this because I thought, “Who wants to hear me talk about fat crystals?” 😂

But texture is one of the questions we get asked most, and I realized it’s actually a good reminder that natural ingredients don’t always behave like products made in a factory.

I’d rather explain why. Surely I’m not the only one who finds this stuff interesting. 😂

POV: You leave your “content prop” unattended for 30 seconds…

Every small business seems to have a numbers person and a “what if we made this…” person.

I’m definitely the second one. 😅

Thankfully Kurt keeps us grounded while I keep coming up with new ideas.

I’ll be honest… “occlusive” isn’t exactly the most exciting skincare word. 😅

But once I learned what it meant, it made so much sense.

An occlusive helps reduce moisture loss by creating a protective layer on your skin. Think of it like putting a lid on a pot. It helps keep more of the moisture where you want it instead of letting it escape so quickly.

That’s one of the reasons we choose to make our skincare with tallow. We love simple ingredients that have a purpose, and tallow is one of them.
