Our setup at festivals didn’t start off smooth.
At one of our earlier outdoor events, our tent literally gave up on us. The wind was so strong it lifted everything and in a matter of seconds it flew away. It was one of those moments that hits you hard not just because of the loss, but because you suddenly realize how unpredictable outdoor markets can be. I learned that lesson the hard way. Since then, things have changed. Every time we set up for a festival, my husband makes sure everything is properly secured, tightened and safe not just for me, but for everyone who stops by our booth. That kind of support means everything when you’re building something from the ground up.
I’m still learning through every event. And honestly, I’ve always been mindful about expenses, especially for outdoor setups. But with my background in marketing and visual, I also understand something important: if you want to be seen in a crowded space, you have to invest in visibility.
Still, I remind myself often I didn’t start this just to look aesthetically pleasing in a booth. I started this because I want my jewelry to mean something, to feel like a quiet but powerful tool someone can carry with them.
At the end of the day, business is balance. Purpose, passion and yes smart investment in being seen.
