How do you keep your scissors sharp?

A scissor becomes dull for a variety of reasons.
You may have done a lot of haircuts, the scissors may have fallen on the floor, or there could be a nick in the blade which the scissors will not cut properly past a nick.
Perhaps one of the blades got bent. Misaligned blades won’t work.
The screw could be misaligned or too loose or too tight.
The washer might be damaged or missing.
There are specific remedies for each problem.
The trick is to know which ones to apply!

It is inevitable that your scissors will dull with regular use, but here is some key advice to ensure their cutting quality between sharpening to prolong the life of your ✂️

Keeping your scissors clean……

This means wiping the scissors with a cloth between each cut with a more thorough cleaning occasionally.

Store your scissors, preferably in a protective case, with the blades closed to avoid scratches.

Lubricate the pivots of the scissors daily with oil.
This will prevent hair or dirt from getting caught in the screw.
