Weekend trips are one of the easiest ways to figure out which products you actually rely on.
When I’m packing, I don’t bring my entire skincare shelf or makeup collection. Every product has to earn its place.
My travel routine focuses on a few essentials:
✨ Products that keep my skin comfortable.
✨ Makeup that looks fresh without needing constant touch-ups.
✨ SPF I’ll actually remember to reapply.
✨ Multi-tasking products that save space without compromising results.
Swipe through to see exactly what’s made the cut this summer, and let me know: what’s the one beauty product you’d never travel without?
Packing for a weekend away at 35 looks a little different than it did at 25. I don’t bring every product I own, I really focus on easy makeup and great f*cking skincare.
As a medical skin therapist and makeup artist, I’m always trying to balance great skin with practicality. The fewer decisions I have to make while I’m away, the better.

What’s one beauty product that always makes it into your travel bag?

Every beauty product has to pass the same five tests before I recommend it:
1. Does the formula support the claims?
2. How does it actually apply and feel?
3. Does it perform in real life?
4. Who is it genuinely for?
5. Does the value make sense?
As a pro makeup artist and medical skin therapist, my goal is to help you shop more thoughtfully, not convince you that every new product is a must-have.
What matters most to you when deciding whether a beauty product is worth buying?
🚨 Toronto’s air legit looks orange today due to wildfire smoke.
While protecting your lungs should always be the priority, your skin can also feel the effects of poor air quality. Smoke contains tiny particles that can contribute to dryness, irritation and oxidative stress, especially if your skin barrier is already compromised.
Here’s what I’m doing today:
✨ Apply an antioxidant serum (like vitamin C) in the morning
🧴 Don’t skip your broad-spectrum SPF
💙 Use a barrier-supporting moisturizer to help lock in hydration
ALSO: Cleanse thoroughly tonight to remove sunscreen, pollutants and smoke particles.
A little extra support can go a long way on days like this!
