Advancing Dignity and Opportunity for Every Girl

Under the theme “Her period should never stop her dreams,” we successfully launched the first rollout of our campaign on April 26, 2026, at the HOTPEC Orphanage Center in Buea, marking a meaningful step toward improving menstrual health awareness and access for vulnerable girls.

We were warmly received by the Director and staff, whose support created a welcoming environment for impactful engagement. The program delivered a focused session on basic menstrual hygiene, combining education with open dialogue, practical demonstrations, and interactive participation. The girls engaged confidently, gaining essential knowledge to manage their periods with dignity.

The most touching moment was the distribution of sanitary pads, a small gesture with a powerful impact, restoring dignity, confidence, and hope. It provided immediate support while reinforcing a powerful message of self-worth and inclusion. Beyond the materials shared, the day fostered trust, connection, and a renewed sense of confidence among participants.

This successful pilot highlights both the urgent need and the transformative potential of targeted menstrual health interventions. We are committed to expanding this initiative and invite partners and sponsors to join us in scaling sustainable impact across more orphanages and communities.
This was more than just an event. It was a movement of awareness, empowerment, and care. Seeing the joy, excitement, and renewed confidence in the girls reminded us why this mission matters. Together, we can ensure that no girl’s future is limited by a natural part of life.

A meaningful step forward for the One Girl, One Sanitary Pad campaign 💙

Today, we visited an orphanage in Buea to introduce this initiative focused on promoting menstrual health and dignity among young girls. The engagement was met with genuine appreciation, as it revealed a gap that had long gone unaddressed. For many, it was the first time menstrual hygiene was openly discussed in this context—highlighting how deeply needed such conversations and support truly are.

We also learned that some girls of menstrual age miss school for a few days each month, without a clear understanding of the underlying cause. This reinforces the importance of not only providing sanitary pads, but also raising awareness and breaking the silence around menstrual health.

The center currently hosts dozens of children and provides both nursery and primary education on campus, making it a vital space to drive impact at an early stage.

We are pleased to share that all resources are already in place for the first rollout of the campaign, with a significant quantity of sanitary pads secured. This marks a strong beginning—but the journey continues.

We remain open to additional support, particularly in the form of sanitary pads, as we work towards reaching more girls and ensuring that no period ever stands in the way of their education or dignity.
