surviving a heatwave from one chronic illness girlie to another🫡 i am not doing well & cannot wait for it to be over
It is HOT (once again) and here are some tips on how to survive as a chronically ill girlie! I feel like a lot is self explanatory and already well known but thought I’d share anyways. I really struggle with the heat and know I’m not alone in this, especially when you have a chronic illness and/or rely on medications that can make you more sensitive to heat & heat related illness.
Other tips not included in this carousel:
- Open your windows later in the day/evening when it’s cooler! During the day, keep your windows and curtains shut with your fan on - it should help keep you cooler.
- Ice lollies are a good to have on hand, will help keep you both hydrated and cool!

(GIFTED) | I never thought I would feel confident in my body, but here I am. And this isn’t me saying I feel confident all the time because that would be a lie but I guess I came to the realisation one day that I can’t change anything about they way I look, so I might as well embrace it💅🏻
Thank you so much to for sending me out this beautiful playsuit - I felt like a fairy princess🥺🩷

Why Are Young Women Using Walking Sticks?
The answer is simple; because they need them.
I spent a long time not using a walking stick when I should have been because i had so much learnt internalised ableism - the constant worry of what people would think, the thought that maybe i’m just ‘dramatic’ but NONE of that was true. I just internalised what I had been hearing (and that breaks my heart for little me)
I think people are forgetting we’re living in a different time…social media exists and it’s changed everything - of course we’re going to see more people who are disabled, who use aids and times have changed, disabled people are making themselves more visible than ever before and rightfully so.
Oh and let’s not forget the MASS disabling event that is Covid.
If anything - people like this? They make me want to be more vocal. I’m never going to shut up about my disability because you’re uncomfortable or find it hard to believe that disabled people exist !!! as they always have done - we are just much more visible now thanks to social media.

Spend the day with me: botox edition! My bladder issues are no secret but it’s also not something I speak about much on here either! Every six months or so I travel to London to have botox injected into my bladder - this paralyses the muscles making it easier to catheterise (less angry spasms) and prevents any accidents!
Lots of waiting around when I have Botox so this times entertainment was finishing off Nightshade by .author and of course my mum by my side to help me through it all (as i’m sure you’re all aware those stockings are a PAIN to get on)
After my Botox is done I have my lunch, have a wee then I’m on my way home! 💘
