It’s October. That doesn’t automatically mean your skin needs a peel 🍂
I love having BioRePeel in the clinic, but I’m still going to ask a few questions before recommending it.
What’s bothering you?
What are you using at home?
How is your skin actually feeling?
If you’re telling me your face feels tight and everything stings, we need to understand what’s going on before adding another treatment.
Sometimes a peel will fit your plan. Sometimes I’ll say, “Let’s get your skin settled first.”
You don’t need to know which treatment to book. That’s what the consultation is for 🤎
Have you heard of “peel season”, or is that a new one to you?
DM me SKIN if you’d like help deciding where to start.

“What’s the best skin booster?”
I could give you a product name.
But that’s not actually a very useful answer. 👀
Because the first thing going through my head is…
Best for WHAT? And best for WHO?
Your skin isn’t the same as the woman whose before & after you just saved on Instagram.
And choosing a treatment shouldn’t be:
❌ What’s trending
❌ What your friend had
❌ What’s all over TikTok
❌ What’s on offer this month
❌ Or even what you think you need
It should be based on your skin, your concerns, your history and the result we’re actually trying to achieve.
That’s why you’ll quite often ask me a simple question and get approximately 47 questions back. 😂
I’m not being difficult.
I’m working it out.
Because being able to perform lots of treatments isn’t the bit I want you to trust me for.
I want you to trust me to know when to use them and when not to.
Good aesthetics doesn’t start with the treatment.
It starts with you. 🤎
Save this for the next time Instagram convinces you that you’ve found your new “must-have” treatment.

Treatments might be the bit that’s makes it onto instagram but this is the part that makes me better at them
Learning
Reading
Questioning
Changing me mind when the evidence tells me to
The more I specialise in skin, and particularly rosacea, the more I realise how much there is still to learn, and I love that
I never want to be a practitioner who qualified and decided she’d finished learning 🤎

When I first came into aesthetics, treatments felt like the exciting bit
Now?
I’m much more interested in why someone’s skin is behaving the way it is
What’s happening to the barrier?
What’s triggering the inflammation?
What are they putting on it every night?
What have they tried?
What results are they trying to receive?
Because there isn’t one facial, injectable or £150 serum that’s right for everyone
And the more I learn, the more comfortable I’ve become saying “I don’t think that’s what your skin needs”
And knowledge has made me recommend less, not more
No more harsh treatments, no more stripping the skin
Just calm, strong, glowing skin that behaves itself
This is the future
Boosters and rosacea friendly treatments are already paving the way in Burton 🤍

This is why I always start with a consultation and bombard you with a million and one questions and if I feel that you’d be better off having a treatment that I don’t offer with someone else then I’ll always be straight with you and I’ll recommend someone else ❤️

Probably not the greatest business strategy… 😂
But I don’t think a consultation should end with me desperately trying to find something on my treatment menu to sell you.
Sometimes the most useful thing I can tell you is:
“No. I wouldn’t spend your money on that.”
Because you might need to simplify your skincare before adding anything else.
Your skin barrier might need sorting before we even think about treatment.
You might need to give your last treatment longer to work.
The thing you’ve seen all over Instagram might not actually be right for your concern.
Or you might genuinely need… nothing.
And yes, technically, I could make more money by saying yes to everything.
But I’m trying to build something much bigger than a diary full of one-off appointments.
I want to be the person you trust with your face.
So if that means occasionally talking myself OUT of a treatment…
I’m very happy to be terrible at sales. 😂🤎
