Nurse led regenerative aesthetics with a medically driven approach.

My promise to you…..
I use social media to educate, question and research.
As a nurse in general practice, evidence-based care is built into the way I work.
But aesthetics isn’t researched to the same level as heart disease, diabetes or asthma, so we don’t always have perfect answers.
That doesn’t mean we stop asking questions.
It means we look at the available evidence, understand its limitations and make the safest clinical decision we can.
Sometimes a trending treatment has good evidence behind it.
Sometimes it doesn’t.
And I will always be honest with you about the difference.
Evidence over hype. Patients before profit.

Most people think microneedling is just making tiny holes in the skin…
It isn’t.
It’s one of the best evidence-based regenerative treatments we have to improve skin quality.
Instead of masking ageing, it encourages your skin to repair itself by stimulating collagen and elastin production.
Think of it as taking your skin to the gym.
The results aren’t instant…and that’s exactly why they last.
📊 Collagen production declines by approximately 1% per year after your mid-20s.
📊 Skin thickness decreases by around 6% every decade as we age.
📊 A course of 3–6 microneedling treatments generally produces greater improvements than a single treatment.
📊 Collagen remodelling continues for up to 6 months after treatment.
📊 Microneedling has more than two decades of published clinical research supporting its use for acne scarring, photoageing and skin rejuvenation.
💬 Have you ever tried microneedling, or have you been thinking about it?

💋 “I don’t think lip filler suits everyone”
You might be surprised to hear me say that… especially as someone who offers lip treatments.
The truth is, I’ve never been a fan of creating big, overfilled lips. If that’s the look you’re after, I’m probably not the right practitioner for you, and I’m completely okay with that.
But healthy, hydrated lips?
That’s a different story.
One of the biggest changes we see as we age isn’t necessarily a loss of size, it’s a loss of hydration, softness and smoothness. Lips can start to feel dry, develop fine lines and lose that healthy appearance.
That’s exactly why I decided to have a lip booster myself.
I wanted to experience the treatment before introducing it into my clinic, and I genuinely love the results.
My lips don’t look dramatically different. They just look healthier.
They’re softer, more hydrated and have a natural freshness 🫶🏻
That’s the kind of result I want for my patients too.
Natural. Subtle. Evidence-informed.
Because sometimes, improving the quality of the tissue gives a better result than adding more volume.

✨ A little glimpse into clinic life…
Most clinic days start with an early morning, a cheeky Costa ☕, wonderful conversations with beautiful clients, and, of course, helping people achieve healthy, glowing skin.
Today’s lovely client kindly gave permission to share a little behind the scenes while having her treatments. She already follows a fantastic skincare routine at home, but wanted to take her results one step further with babyGLOW for radiant, hydrated skin and a subtle lip booster to restore hydration and enhance her natural lips.
It’s never about changing who you are, it’s about enhancing what you already have and helping you feel confident in your own skin.
Just a little snippet of my day… I hope you enjoyed coming along with me. 🤍

☀️ Your skin behaves differently in hot weather and not always in the way you’d expect.
One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is:
“My skin is oily, so I don’t need moisturiser.”
In reality, heat increases oil production, while sweat and sun exposure can leave your skin dehydrated and your skin barrier compromised.
The foundations of healthy skin don’t change:
✨ Gentle cleansing
✨ Hydration
✨ Moisturiser
✨ Daily SPF
Whether you’re investing in skin treatments or simply want healthier skin, these basics make the biggest difference.
Save this post for the next hot day and send it to someone who still thinks SPF is only for holidays! ☀️

You’ve probably heard of Sunekos…maybe not
But what actually is it?
As a registered nurse, I believe understanding why a treatment works is just as important as the treatment itself.
In this first episode I’m explaining:
✔ What Sunekos is
✔ How it works
✔ What’s inside it
✔ What the current evidence tells us
Save this post!!!
it’s the first in my Science Behind Skin series.
➡️ Episode 2 is coming later, where I’ll explain the difference between Sunekos Performa and Sunekos 1200.
🩺 Nurse Katie’s Take
Evidence: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
The current evidence for Sunekos is encouraging, particularly for improving skin hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality. While larger independent studies would strengthen the evidence base, I believe it’s a valuable regenerative treatment when used in the right patient following a thorough consultation.
Ps sorry for the chopping noises my husband was sorting dinner 🫣 I will try to get better ❤️🩹

The truth about lip filler… 💋
If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I’m not someone who loves obviously filled lips.
I do feel that lip filler has a place.
For the right person, lip filler can:
• Restore volume that’s been lost with age.
• Improve hydration and definition.
• Correct asymmetry.
• Bring balance to the face.
• Enhance what is already there
If your goal is very large, dramatic lips, I’m probably not the right practitioner for you… and I’m completely okay with saying that.
Because I’d rather be honest than promise something that doesn’t align with my clinical judgement.
My approach has always been about creating natural, balanced results that still look like you.
Sometimes the best compliment isn’t “Have you had your lips done?”
It’s…
“You look really well… have you changed something?”
That’s the result I aim for.
✨ Nurse Katie’s Take
Evidence rating: ★★★★☆ (Strong clinical evidence)
Small-volume, carefully placed hyaluronic acid filler can restore age-related volume loss, improve lip definition and support facial harmony. The best results come from respecting facial proportions and tailoring treatment to the individual…not following trends.
If you’re looking for subtle, natural lip enhancement, I’d love to talk you through whether it’s the right treatment for you.

I occasionally get asked why I don’t promote certain treatments in the same way as other pages.
The answer is simple….
I’m a registered nurse, and with that comes professional responsibilities that I take seriously.
My role is to educate, provide evidence-based advice and help you make informed decisions, not to pressure anyone into treatment.
Thank you to everyone who trusts me with their faces and skin. That trust means everything 🙏
