✨ LOW IRON & YOUR HAIR ✨

This is something I see so often within my industry, and more often than not, I can usually spot the signs before a client even realises there may be an underlying issue.

When clients come to me concerned about excessive shedding, thinning hair, or hair that simply isn’t growing as it should, one of the first things I mention is having their iron levels checked.

Iron plays a huge role in healthy hair growth, and when your iron stores are low, your body prioritises essential organs over your hair follicles. Unfortunately, your hair is often one of the first places you’ll notice the effects.

The tricky thing is that low iron can creep up on us gradually. Many women put symptoms down to being busy, stressed, tired, or simply “run down,” without realising there could be an underlying deficiency contributing to how they’re feeling and how their hair is behaving.

Of course, I can’t diagnose low iron, and excessive shedding can have many different causes. However, if I notice signs that could indicate an underlying issue, I’ll always mention it so you can have a conversation with your GP and request a blood test if appropriate.

Recently, one of my lovely clients decided to remove her hair extensions after wearing them for over 3 years.

Over that time, with the correct application, maintenance appointments, aftercare and healthy hair practices, her natural hair had flourished. She felt confident enough to give life without extensions a go again.

Of course I love creating beautiful hair transformations, but what I love even more is helping women feel confident in themselves.

My aim has never been to make clients feel like they need extensions forever. My aim is to enhance confidence, protect natural hair, educate clients on healthy hair habits, and help them achieve their hair goals.

If a client leaves my chair feeling amazing with extensions, that’s a win.

If a client leaves my chair years later feeling amazing without them, that’s a win too. 💕

Hi, I’m Lucy 👋💕

I’m the face behind Lucy Locks Hair Extensions, based in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.

I was born in Inverness and raised in Gairloch on the beautiful west coast of Scotland, and I’ve spent almost a decade specialising in hair extensions.

Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of women, completed countless transformations, and invested heavily in perfecting my craft. What started as a passion has grown into a business that I’m incredibly proud of.

I think there comes a point in every career where experience becomes more than just years in the industry. It’s the knowledge you’ve gained, the challenges you’ve overcome, and the confidence that comes from doing something you love every single day.

After nearly a decade, I genuinely feel I’ve reached that point. Not only do I have the technical skills, but the experience to know what works, what doesn’t, and most importantly, how to protect the health and integrity of my clients’ natural hair.

Colour matching is where my heart truly lies. Creating seamless, natural-looking transformations that blend perfectly from root to tip is what I’m known for, and one of my biggest passions within the industry.

I work from my private home salon on a 1-to-1 basis, giving every client a completely personalised experience. From consultation and colour matching through to fitting and aftercare, every detail is tailored specifically to you.

My goal is simple: to create hair that looks natural, feels comfortable, and gives you that confidence boost every time you look in the mirror.

When I’m not doing hair, you’ll usually find me with my fiancé Lee, our little dachshund Maggie 🐾, or planning my next home project.
