🚨 Let’s talk about laser burns…

I’ve had a few clients come to The Intimate Studio recently after having laser hair removal elsewhere, and unfortunately they’ve experienced burns and even blistering.

Firstly, I want to reassure you of one thing…

Burns are a recognised risk of laser hair removal, but they are absolutely NOT the expected or normal outcome of treatment.

A little redness, warmth and slight swelling around the hair follicles? ✔️ Completely normal.

Blistering and burns? ❌ No.

I’m not here to name and shame anyone. That’s not what this post is about.

It’s about making sure you know what good laser treatment should look like.

One thing I’ve heard more than once is that clients have been told the laser needs to be turned up as high as possible to get rid of the hair.

Unfortunately, that’s not how laser works.

Laser hair removal is all about delivering the right amount of energy for your skin type, hair type and medical history. More isn’t always better.

Hair also grows in cycles, and laser is only effective on hairs that are in the anagen (active growth) phase. You can’t force hairs that aren’t in the correct stage to disappear simply by increasing the settings. The goal is effective treatment—not unnecessarily aggressive treatment.

At The Intimate Studio, your safety will always come before chasing quick results.

That’s why we’re constantly investing in further education and advanced training. We’re currently completing additional training with Skin13 Academy to continue developing our knowledge and ensuring we’re delivering the safest, most effective treatments possible.
