✊💜 OUR WARD CLERKS HAVE WON! 💜✊
Following months of campaigning, negotiations and industrial action, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde have came back to our Ward Clerks, with a new and improved offer, which our members have voted to ACCEPT!
Ward Clerks voted to accept the employer's offer, at 79% yes on an 86% turnout, in a consultative ballot.
This is a huge victory for our Ward Clerks and for collective trade union action.
The new offer means:
- The Ward Clerks’ job evaluation claim will now proceed.
- Any successful outcome will be backdated to June 2023.
- Experienced Ward Clerks are expected to progress to the top of their new band, subject to the outcome of the job evaluation process and individual circumstances.
- Members will receive the relevant backdated pay
Hundreds of our members could see a significant and lasting increase in their salaries.
- The dispute & strike mandate remain live until the Ward Clerks are paid out in full.
Most importantly, this deal delivers long-overdue recognition of the vital work our Ward Clerks do every single day across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
Branch Secretary Frances Carmichael has said:
"This victory belongs to our Ward Clerks. They stood together, they took industrial action together and they refused to give up on getting the recognition they deserve.
"Our members showed that when workers organise, stand united and are prepared to fight for fairness, they can win.
I could not be prouder of every Ward Clerk who took part in this campaign. They have shown workers across the NHS exactly what can be achieved when we stand together, in UNISON.”
Our Branch will now work with the employer to ensure the agreement is implemented properly and that our members receive everything they are entitled to.
A massive thank you to our Branch organisers and stewards who have worked tirelessly throughout this campaign.
But above all, thank you to our incredible Ward Clerks.
You stood on the picket lines.
You stood by each other.
You stayed united.
And you won. ✊💜
📢 WHEN WORKERS STAND TOGETHER, WORKERS CAN WIN.
VICTORY TO THE WARD CLERKS! ✊
