The positive news is that I have submitted my mandatory Revalidation paperwork that all nurses have to do in The U.K every year.
The not so good news is that I pulled a muscle in my back (for the 2nd time in a 12 month π¬) so today's diet has been supplemented with either Paracetamol or Ibruprofen every 4 hours. The mixed blessings of being self employed & needing to keep working π§. Best wishes to all my Healthcare colleagues....stay strong & healthy & may The Force remain with you ππ

Ida(Rather-Not-Have-Lymphoedama-At-All) has now been joined by Isla (Manage-this-Problem- Proactively-&-Get-On -With-My-Life).
Isla is modeling a Solidea Silver Wave bra, which is a cooler alternative than a Comfiwave breatband for night or day wear), a Juzo ACS compression band, a pair of made-to-measue Bermuda compression shorts, a thigh to ankle compression leg pice & a Jobst glove to go with her Comfiwave compression armsleeve.
These options are all possible via the NHS lymphoedema service & if your GP won't refer you then I can!!!

I am delighted to have got an Educational Grant funded place to attend this year's conference. I have already booked my accommodation so just need to arrange transport but that can't be done until about July if it's to a train π«€

It finally came! I didn't think I had actually won anything cos only the winner got to go up to the podium but it was still wonderful to get the BRONZE AWARD FOR LYMPHOEDEMA NURSE OF THE YEAR 2026!
I thought it might be helpful to others to explain what I am trying do when doing Lymphatic Drainage.
You can actually see the shape of the leg change as I'm working πͺ π

Didn't win the award for Lymphoedema Nurse of the Year 2026 but I'm really not bothered. Seeing Sandy Chevery in a black tie & being re-united with the amazing Mark Pearson 10 years after working with him at St George's was sooooo memorable & was reward enough for 40 years in nursing, the last 16 of which have been in lymphoedema.
Lymphoedema effects everyone on different ways π Today I had the pleasure of explaining my practice in great detail and hopefully my answers help someone with Lymphoedema get the help they really need π
