Who needs this after a stressful day at work?
That sore spot in your back that’s been building all week? This is where i work it out.
Deep tissue works into the deeper layers where tension sits. The bits that stiffen up from long days at a desk, hard training sessions, or just carrying stress in your shoulders.
By the time you leave the table your back feels looser, your neck moves freer, and the weekend suddenly looks a lot more appealing.
Don’t drag Friday’s aches into your Saturday.
Book in at the Summertown clinic and start the weekend properly.

Nobody talks about this part of being in pain.
It’s not the injury itself. It’s the moment you realise what it’s actually costing you.
The runner watching their mates head out on a Sunday morning without them. The footballer who’s become a permanent sub. The gym goer who quietly stopped going, because working around the pain got more stressful than just not going.
Pain doesn’t only hurt. It takes things.
Your Sunday morning run. Your five a side with the lads. Your training sessions. The thing you do to clear your head after a hard week.
Then it starts chipping away at something deeper. Your identity. Who you are when someone asks what you do outside of work.
That’s the real cost. And it’s the bit that rarely gets acknowledged.
So when someone tells you it’s just a ni**le, that’s what they’re brushing off.
If you’re in that place right now, two things.
One. What you’re feeling is valid. The frustration is real.
Two. It’s almost never permanent.
I’ve had runners get back to racing, footballers back on the pitch, and gym goers back under the bar after months, sometimes years, of thinking that part of their life was over.
It usually isn’t. It just needs the right assessment and the right plan.
Don’t accept a smaller life.
Send me a message if this one hits home. Let’s get you back to it.

I’ve been a little quiet on here over the last couple of weeks.
Between a busy diary full of clients and a couple of short breaks for annual leave, social media has taken a back seat.
I’m back now, and I’ll be sharing regular tips and advice from next week to help you move better, train with less pain, and recover well.
If there’s anything you’d like me to cover, whether it’s sports massage, rehab, gym injuries, or those annoying aches and pains, let me know in the comments.

Most people only think about booking a massage when something hurts.
And I completely understand that — pain is usually what forces the conversation.
But some of the clients I work with aren’t in pain at all. They’re training hard, they’re active, and they’ve learned that regular massage can help keep them that way.
It manages tension before it builds into something. It picks up on imbalances before they become injuries. It improves recovery so they can train consistently without constantly breaking down.
If you’re active and you want to stay that way — this is worth thinking about.

Here’s something most people don’t know about pain.
The state of the tissue is only part of the story. Sometimes a surprisingly small part.
Your sleep, your stress levels, your beliefs about what’s going on, how much you’re moving, your general health — all of it feeds into how much pain you actually feel day to day.
This is why your back can feel fine on holiday and terrible during a stressful week at work.
And it’s why as a therapist I never just look at where it hurts. The conversation at the start of every session — about sleep, stress, training, life — isn’t just small talk. It’s part of the assessment.
Understanding this stuff is genuinely one of the most powerful things you can do for persistent pain.
Save this one. And if you know someone who’s been struggling with pain that doesn’t seem to make sense, share it with them. It might be the reframe they need.

“It’s just your age.”
Four words that stop people looking for answers.
I hear this constantly from clients who’ve been written off somewhere along the way. Told to accept it. Manage it. Slow down.
And it’s rarely true.
Pain in your thirties, forties and fifties is not inevitable. It’s usually a movement problem, a strength problem, or a load management problem. None of those are age. All of them can be addressed.
I’ve worked with people in their fifties who are stronger, more active and more capable than they were ten years ago. Not because they did anything extraordinary. Because they stopped accepting a lazy explanation and did something about it.
You’re not too old. You just haven’t had the right help yet.
Drop a comment if this resonates. I’d like to hear your experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review — Katherine
Katherine came in with running ni**les that had been hanging around for a while. The kind of thing that quietly builds up and starts getting in the way of your training without ever being dramatic enough to force you to stop.
We worked out what was driving it. Got stuck into a proper sports massage. And she left with a strength and rehab programme specific to her.
The bit that stood out to me in her review?
She floated out.
That’s the feeling I want every single person to leave with. Not just patched up. Actually better.
Nearly 80 five star Google reviews on the back of sessions exactly like this one.

Honest question. How’s your sleep been lately?
Because if you’re dealing with persistent pain and sleeping badly, those two things are almost certainly connected.
I ask every client about their sleep to help guide the treatment and post-treatment advice.
Poor sleep makes pain feel worse, slows recovery down, and makes injuries more likely. It’s one of the biggest factors in how people feel day to day and one of the least talked about in this space.
The good news is you don’t need a perfect eight hours every night to feel the difference. Small consistent changes. Earlier nights, less screen time before bed, easier training sessions when you’re running on empty. They add up quickly.
Your body does its best work when you let it rest properly.
Save this and let me know in the comments how sleep affects your pain. I’d genuinely love to know.
