💛 Summer nails officially activated! 💛

I finally got around to doing my own nails today!

I had absolutely no idea what colour to choose, so I asked my mum… her answer was yellow ☀️💛

These are replacing my previous set that I’ve had on since 12th May 🤣

Now before anyone says anything, I normally redo my own nails every two weeks I can’t stand that infill gap! but your girl has been BUSY! 😅💅

One thing I have been good at is applying my cuticle oil daily, and it’s really helped keep my natural nails looking healthy underneath ✨

I finished these with a subtle cat eye top coat for that extra summer sparkle 🌞✨ The best part? A cat eye top coat can be added to any colour or design to give it that gorgeous shimmer effect!

Today my client came in after spending a little too much time on the beach and somehow I ended up helping apply aftersun to her back 😭🤣

Honestly I’m not just a nail tech at this point…

I’m also a helping hand when needed 😂🤍

One minute I’m perfecting a French tip…
The next I’m helping rescue somebody from a sunburn ☀️😭

Safe to say she left with gorgeous fresh nails, aftersun applied and hopefully a little less sore than when she arrived 😂💅🏻✨

🔥 GIRLS… PLEASE DON’T SUFFER THROUGH THE LAMP 🔥

With the warmer weather finally arriving, some of you might notice the lamp feeling a little warmer than usual 👀💅🏻

And sometimes that can mean the dreaded heat spike 😭🔥

If your nails ever feel like they’re on fire in the lamp…

PLEASE take your hand out 🤍✨

Wait a few seconds.
Let them cool down.
Then pop them back in.

You do not need to sit there suffering 😂😭

But why does it happen? 👀

As builder gel, hard gel and some gel products cure, they naturally create heat as part of the curing process.

Some people feel it more than others, especially if:
✨ their nails are naturally thinner
✨ they’re more sensitive
✨ there’s a thicker layer of product

And during warmer weather, your hands and nails can already be warmer than normal, which can sometimes make heat spikes feel a little stronger too 🔥💅🏻

The good news?

It’s completely normal and doesn’t mean anything is wrong with your nails 🙌🏻🤍

So next time you’re in my chair and get a heat spike…

Not every before photo is perfect… and that’s okay 💕

I often share the fresh, glossy finished sets, but I want to start showing more of the real nail journey too!

This lovely client returned after 8 weeks and 2 days 😮✨

Over those 8 weeks she only lost 2 nails, and that wasn’t due to lifting. They happened while fitting a child’s car seat last week 🚗💨

You may be wondering why those nails snapped…

As your natural nails grow, the apex (the strongest part of the enhancement) grows forward too. After 8 weeks, the apex is no longer sitting where it was originally built, which can create a weaker stress area. This means the nails become more vulnerable to knocks, catches and accidental breaks.

That’s exactly why regular maintenance appointments are so important 💅✨

The good news? Broken nails are no problem at all! They can be repaired and rebalanced so they’re back to looking beautiful again 🥰

And before anyone mentions the half n**e, half black nail… 🤣🙈

I had already started debulking and removing the old set before I remembered to take a before photo, so please ignore that one! 😂

I think it’s important to show both the perfect and the not-so-perfect. Real clients live real lives, and seeing how nails wear over time gives a much better idea of what to expect between appointments.
