Let’s talk about the “I can do a full set in an hour” flex…

Being able to do nails quickly isn’t automatically something to brag about.
Speed does not equal skill.

My prep alone can sometimes take me up to an hour and I’m completely okay with that.

Why? Because I’m not racing the clock. I’m looking at the natural nail, assessing what it actually needs, doing thorough prep, working carefully around the cuticle, creating the right structure and making sure the finished set is going to last.

Could I rush? Of course.
Do I want to? Absolutely not.

Your nails aren’t an assembly line.

Every client, every natural nail and every set is different. Some appointments will take an hour. Some will take two. Some will take longer.

I’d rather have a client leave with beautiful, well-prepped, structurally sound nails that have been treated with care than leave knowing I’ve shaved 30 minutes off an appointment just so I can say I’m “fast.”
I’m not here to be the fastest.
I’m here to be bloody good at what I do.

Sidewalls Matter.

Your sidewalls shouldn’t be filed away just to make the nail look “perfect”.
Over-filing can weaken the natural nail and affect its structure.
And remember — not every curved or broken nail is the nail tech’s fault!
Natural nails can curve, flare or break due to genetics and their natural structure.
Our goal is to work with your natural nails, keeping them strong, healthy and beautifully structured.
I'm seeing it all too often where nail techs are focusing on making the nail look pretty while compromising the sidewalls or not building a strong foundation whilst completing a full set of nails in an hour.
Now im not saying it's not possible but the likely hood is corners are being cut and important structure is being missed.
Am I the fastest tech absolutely not, but will I spend the time ensuring your nails are correctly prepped with a solid foundation, sidewalls and lower parallels before continuing with nail art absolutely yes.

Jojo's Beauty and training is an independant small business. Simply doing what i love with over 16 years experiance. I offer primarily nail services along with some beauty services and ABT accredited courses.
