1. Filing the free edge breaks the seal ❌
It doesn’t! Properly filing and refining the free edge can actually help with retention and give you a cleaner finish. You might have been taught this at college, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s correct
2. White spots mean you’re lacking calcium ❌
Those little white marks are usually caused by minor trauma to the nail like knocking, bashing or picking. They’re nothing to panic about and will simply grow out with the nail
3. Nails need to be thick to be strong ❌
Nope! Strong nails don’t need to be bulky. With correct application and the right structure, including a well-placed apex, you can have strength without unnecessary thickness
4. Your nails need to ‘breathe’ ❌
Nails don’t have lungs 😂 They don’t need to be left bare to breathe! What they do need is proper care, correct application and good natural nail health
5. Acrylic and Gel ruins your natural nail ❌
Overfilling, improper care and ripping them off instead of getting them removed is what ruins your nails👀

3 EFile mistakes you need to stop making…

Using an EFile can absolutely change your prep game, not to mention save you time AND money! But technique really matters 👀

Here are 3 common mistakes we see all the time:
1️⃣ Using carbide bits at incorrect angles - Using the tip or edge can lead to rings of fire, and unnecessary damage
2️⃣ Running carbide bits at too low an RPM - Carbides need speed to work efficiently, if you’re running it too slow your bit can skip and not remove product properly
3️⃣ Forgetting to use reverse with diamond bits - When working around the cuticle, using both forward AND reverse helps you exfoliate the cuticle and side walls evenly
