The experience of buying a great pair of scissors shouldn’t start when you first cut hair with them.

It should start when you open the box.

That’s why our scissors arrive in our signature cork packaging.

Natural. Tactile. Understated.

A small detail that represents something much bigger about Leaf — our belief that beautiful design, professional tools and a more considered approach to our planet can sit together.

Six days. Six details.

But really, one philosophy:

Everything we make starts with the hairdresser and barber in mind. 🌱

Probably the least glamorous tools in your kit.

And probably some of the ones you use the most.

Which is exactly why we cared about them.

The shape. The teeth. The flexibility. The feel in your hand. How they move through the hair.

A comb might be a small part of what we make, but if you’re going to pick something up hundreds of times a week, the small details matter.

We obsess over the things hairdressers notice.

There’s something different about cutting hair with a razor.

Less rigid. More instinctive.

Our Leaf Razor was designed to give you control while still allowing that freedom — whether you’re creating softness, movement, texture or breaking up a shape.

Simple. Balanced. No unnecessary fuss.

Because sometimes the simplest tool in your kit can completely change the way you approach a haircut.

Different tool. Different feeling. Different result.

Sometimes the most important part of a scissor isn’t the blade.

It’s what happens to your hand, wrist and shoulder while you’re using it.

The rotating thumb on our Swivel is designed to move with you, allowing your hand to find a more natural position as you work and reducing unnecessary twisting through the wrist.

It’s a small piece of engineering that can make a very big difference when you spend your life behind the chair.

Because the tool should adapt to the hairdresser.

Not the other way around.

A texturiser shouldn’t leave a haircut looking like it’s been texturised.

That was always the point.

The Black Edition Texturiser is designed to remove weight, soften lines and create movement — without leaving obvious marks through the hair.

It’s also designed to give you the ability to slice and point cut with it, so you have an unbelievable level of control over weight and texture.

It’s not about how much hair you can take away. It’s about how beautifully you leave what’s behind.

Tools designed by hairdressers, for hairdressers. 🌱

Look closely at the handles.

They’re shaped this way for a reason.

The offset, ergonomic design allows your hand, wrist and elbow to sit in a more natural position while you cut — because when you’re holding a pair of scissors for hours every day, small changes in design can make a big difference.

It’s a detail you’ll find across our Black Edition, Pure Steel and Pink scissors.

Because we don’t believe great ergonomics should be reserved for the most expensive scissors in your kit.

Comfort should be designed in from the start, so that you can do great hair for as long as possible.

We may have taken the whole “Leaf” thing a little too literally… 🌿😂

The right idea needs the right people behind it.

When we started building Strand, one thing was really important to us.

We didn’t want to just build an app that looked good.

We wanted to build something that could genuinely become part of the infrastructure independent hairdressers use to run and grow their businesses.

And to do that, the right partner mattered.

That’s why we chose to build with Shortcuts.

They bring decades of experience in hairdressing technology and, importantly for us, the technical backbone, knowledge and ongoing support to help make sure Strand can actually do everything we want it to do.

We know hairdressing.
We know the challenges we want Strand to solve.
We know the community we want to build.

But we also know the importance of surrounding ourselves with people who bring expertise that we don’t have.

And as our ambitions for Strand grow, we need the technology behind it to be capable of growing with us.

Because this isn’t about launching an app and calling it finished.

It’s about building something that can keep evolving with the people using it.

The vision for Strand is big.

And having the right partners alongside us gives us the confidence to build towards it.
