Koriabo Arukamai Village

The residents of Koriabo Arukamai village are totally dissatisfied and annoyed with the continouous removal of their sand resource by neighbouring Kamwatta. Even after Mr Mckenzie who was sent by the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs found in the presence of both village councils and representitive of Barima Waini Region Rdc including CDO Ms Willis that the sand pit area is Clearly in our village. Over the past months our village leaders have remaind very calm on this matter but at this point we felt that our neighbours is going way beyond their boundary . As a council we have left with no choice but to protect what is rightfully ours . As of last week the people of Kamwatta was seen with the owner of an excavator heaping and removing sand which is not their own. Heaps of sand is seen in the photo that was heaped and left by the excavator. Lately The Village Kamwatta was given their road project to built concrete road and they are banking on sand that is not their own to get the project complete .
A report has since been made to the regional commander by the village council.
