In January this year we lost a fabulous person who left an indelible mark on our community ✨️ Paul Foley✨️.
It was always a pleasure to meet Paul at matches or in Keevers Bar, he is sadly missed but fondly remembered by us all 💙
This event is being organised as a tribute to Paul by his wide circle of friends and will raise funds for really worthy charities that supported Paul and his family during his illness 💙 please support and share this event with your connections 🙏 Donation link in comments ⬇️
======================================
The passing of Paul Foley earlier this year left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A devoted husband, proud father, loyal friend and respected professional, Paul sadly lost his courageous battle with cancer at the age of just 49.
A native of Ballygarvan, Paul had a lifelong passion for sport.
He was a dedicated supporter of Cork GAA and an enthusiastic soccer player. After settling in Ardmore, he generously gave his time to the local community, coaching underage hurling and football teams and inspiring countless young players with his encouragement, enthusiasm and love of the game.
To honour Paul's memory and celebrate the remarkable impact he had on so many lives, friends and former teammates from across the sporting community are coming together for a special fundraising event.
The inaugural Paul Foley Memorial Cup will take place on June 13th at 2.30pm at College Corinthians, where Templeogue Over-35s will face College Corinthians in what promises to be a memorable and meaningful occasion.
The match will be played in tribute to Paul, a devoted husband to Sandra and a loving father to Jack and Robyn. While there will be plenty of sporting rivalry, the day is ultimately about remembering a man whose kindness, generosity and spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Funds raised from the event will support the Irish Cancer Society and Solas Cancer Support Centre, two organisations that provided invaluable care, comfort and support to Paul and his family throughout his illness, and which continue to help countless families facing similar challenges.
The Paul Foley Memorial Cup is more than a football match; it is a celebration of a life well lived, a community united in remembrance, and an opportunity to honour Paul's legacy.
Through sport, friendship and generosity, those who knew him will ensure that his memory lives on, both on and off the pitch, for many years to come.
