October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a good time to pause for a moment and remind ourselves how important it is to take care of our health.
As a beauty professional who has completed Oncology Aesthetics Foundation Training, I understand the importance of an informed, individual approach to women’s skincare, particularly those going through the challenges of cancer and its treatment. 🎀
This month, I’d like to remind you of a few important things:
💗 Know your body. Be aware of any new or unusual changes in your breasts.
💗 Don’t put off screening. Follow the screening recommendations appropriate for your age and individual risk, and speak to your GP about what is right for you.
💗 Never ignore unusual symptoms. If you notice something new or concerning, seek medical advice.
💗 Remember that women undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment deserve care, comfort and safe, individually tailored skincare, too.
We can’t control everything life brings our way. But we can become more aware, pay attention to changes and remind one another of what matters. 🫶🏻
