He said the constant rain was flooding roads, lanes and low-lying areas, making daily life difficult.

Indian Railways’ New AI System

Indian Railways has introduced a new AI-based system called Project DRISHTI to improve the security of freight trains. It was developed by Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) in collaboration with IIT Guwahati.

How it works:
When a goods train passes through a monitoring point, high-speed cameras capture images of the wagons. AI then checks the wagon number, doors, locks and security seals to see whether everything appears properly closed and intact.

If the system detects a possible problem, such as a damaged or disturbed seal or lock, the information can be recorded digitally so railway staff can investigate and take action faster.

Why is it important?

Earlier, railway staff had to inspect many of these things manually. This could take time and become difficult at night or during bad weather. DRISHTI is designed to make these checks faster and more consistent while reducing dependence on manual inspection.

The system is expected to help Railway Protection Force (RPF) and commercial staff, protect goods being transported, and reduce delays in freight operations.

In one line:
🚆 Indian Railways is using AI and cameras to check freight-train doors, locks and seals automatically while trains pass through monitoring points.

Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has criticised celebrities who promote paan masala and gutkha through advertisements. His comments came after the Maharashtra FDA issued show-cause notices to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff over a Vimal Elaichi advertisement that the regulator says indirectly promotes a banned pan-masala product.

Key points:

The FDA says celebrities cannot simply claim they are only the “face” of an advertisement.

According to Mundhe, people who endorse products also have legal and moral responsibility for what they promote.

The actors were directed to stop the promotional campaign and remove related promotional content from their social-media accounts.

The FDA says Maharashtra has restrictions/bans on gutkha and certain flavoured tobacco/areca-nut products.

Mundhe argued that earning money from an advertisement does not remove the responsibility of a celebrity or influencer to consider what they are encouraging people to consume.

The FDA has received responses from the three actors, and further proceedings are underway.

In short: Maharashtra FDA is taking a stronger stance against surrogate advertising of gutkha and pan masala, saying that both companies and celebrity endorsers can face regulatory action.
