These series of images were captured on my way to Sumur, deep in the rugged, high-altitude heart of Ladakh. Watching these yaks - quiet guardians of the mountains silhouetted against the vast, sweeping sky, I was reminded of exactly why I started Purearth.

To me, knowing our provenance is knowing our impact. It means knowing exactly where our ingredients come from and ensuring our relationship with the land is deeply ecological, ethical, and rooted in fair trade. Here, in the remote stretches of the wild Himalayan belt, our rare botanicals are nourished by ancient, glacier-fed streams. For me, skincare and wellness is about connection. It’s why I am so deeply committed to an ecological footprint that treads lightly, and to ethical, fair-trade practices that honor both this sacred earth and the local women who gently harvest its gifts.

From the untamed wild to your skin, this is our labour of love.✨

A picture I took over a decade ago on my way back from Nubra valley, the gentle breeze - a benediction, the sunset - a sacred sutra written across the peaks. Before wellness was a hashtag, before “self-care” was a thing on your feed.

I took this photo of a weathered sign high up in the Himalayas. It’s simple, powerful message - the very heartbeat of Purearth: “Every day is Earth Day.” 🌳

When I started this journey, it was born from a deep, spiritual reverence for our planet and the incredible women who nurture it. To me, true beauty is synonymous with ‘slow luxury’ and ‘conscious craftsmanship’.

At Purearth, we have never rushed the process. We pour our hearts into artisanal creations that honour the soil, the seasons, and the sacred wisdom of the earth.

Treading lightly on this beautiful planet is non-negotiable for us. It’s why we are so fiercely committed to low waste practices, housing our botanical formulas in infinitely recyclable violetglass and thoughtfully packaging with FSC certified paper to protect the forests we cherish.

But true sustainability goes above and beyond the environment—it’s about sustaining communities. If you swipe these slides you’ll see the radiant smile of one of our harvesting partners. At our sister organisation the PPF Foundation, our guiding philosophy has always been fair trade, not aid. We proudly pledge 10% of our profits to fund women-led initiatives, empowering the marginalized women who ethically wild-harvest our ingredients to achieve financial independence and social equity.
