🐐 Goat Vaccination Schedule

1. Clostridial Diseases
• Enterotoxaemia (ET) & Tetanus (combined vaccine – ET + T)
• Kid (first dose): at 6–8 weeks of age
• Booster: after 21 days
• Repeat: once a year (preferably before monsoon)

2. Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR / Goat Plague)
• First dose: at 3 months of age
• Repeat: every 3 years (long-lasting immunity, sometimes recommended yearly in outbreak areas)

3. Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD)
• First dose: at 4 months of age
• Repeat: every 6 months (March–April & September–October in India)

4. Hemorrhagic Septicemia (HS)
• First dose: at 6 months of age
• Repeat: once a year (just before monsoon season)

• First dose: at 3 months of age
• Repeat: once a year

• Repeat: annually before monsoon

• At any age after exposure (post-bite vaccination)

Eyeworm disease, also known as Thelaziasis, is a common parasite that infects the eyes of horses and other animals: 👉🏻 How it’s transmitted Face flies transmit the larvae of the parasite to horses by feeding on their eye secretions. The larvae become infective after 2–4 weeks and are deposited in the horse’s eye during feeding. Symptoms Eye irritation, inflammation, and drainage are common symptoms. Other symptoms include: Conjunctivitis Irritation of the tear ducts Cloudy cornea Slow-healing sores Holes in the cornea Permanent fibrous tissue 👇🏻 Treatment A veterinarian can isolate the cause and prescribe an effective treatment. General anesthesia is an effective treatment for equine ocular setariasis. *👇🏻 Prevention_ To help prevent eye worm disease, you can wipe fly repellant on your horse’s face and use a fly mask to keep flies away from their eyes.
