The Trinidad and Tobago government on Wednesday criticised the use of drones to acquire photos of “military installations and equipment,” noting “with great concern” drone activity in close proximity to both Piarco International Airport in Trinidad and the ANR Robinson Airport in Tobago. In a statement, the Ministry of Defence, which is responsible “for securing our borders, including the airspace and territorial waters,” said it had taken note of “recent drone activity” near the two airports.

Residents of Fitzgerald Avenue in the Maxfield area of St Andrew have been urged by lawmen to partner with the police in the coming year to help reduce violent crime. Divisional Commander for St Andrew South, Senior Superintendent Damion Manderson, along with members of his community safety and security team, convened a community meeting on Tuesday night at the corner of Water Street and Fitzgerald Avenue.

United States President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that could reclassify ma*****na as a less dangerous drug and open new avenues for medical research. Reclassification by the Drug Enforcement Administration would not make it legal for recreational use by adults nationwide, but it could change how the drug is regulated and reduce a hefty tax burden on the cannabis industry.
