When your skin is burned, it’s damaged and needs time to heal. Adding spray tan solution can:
• Dry it out even more
• Cause uneven, blotchy results
• Lead to peeling (even if you don't typically peel)

If you do get a sunburn, give your skin time to fully heal (usually a few weeks) before booking your tan.

1. Where are you located?

2. What shade should I choose?

I tend to be conservative on the first tan -- a light or medium are always a safe bet and will give you a natural looking tan. On the second visit we can always go darker if wanted.

3. How long does a spray tan last?

Spray tans typically last 7-10 days with proper care. Longevity depends on your skin cycle, how well you prep before the tan, and how you care for your skin after.

4. How should I prepare for my spray tan?

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water leading up to your appointment, exfoliate (with exfoliation mitt or cloth) your skin 24 hours before your appointment, focusing on dry areas like elbows, knees, and ankles. Avoid lotions, oils, perfume, deodorant, and makeup on the day of your tan.

5. What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear loose, dark clothing and open-toed shoes. Think Adam Sandler vibes! Avoid anything tight that might rub off the tan while it develops (no leggings, no jeans, no socks, no bra if spray tanned topless/with pasties)

7. Can I shower right after my spray tan?

Depending on the solution, the rinse time could be anywhere from 2-8 hours. Your first rinse should be water only—no soap, no scrubbing, and pat dry with a towel.

8. Can I spray tan while pregnant?

Yes! As long as you are past 12 weeks. We take extra precautions if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. However, I always recommend checking with your doctor. Our products are naturally derived, but it’s always best to get medical approval when pregnant.

9. Can I work out or sweat after my tan?

Avoid sweating, water, or tight clothing until after your first rinse. Once you’ve rinsed, you’re good to go—just moisturize daily to maintain your tan.

10. Which products are spray tan safe?

Body Wash/Moisturizers: Native, Palmers, Hempz, CeraVe, Cetaphil, Aveeno

Sunscreens: Neutrogena, Sun Bum **avoid aerosol sprays

11. Can I get a spray tan with a sunburn?

No, you should not get a spray tan while you have a sunburn. Spraying over sunburnt, sensitive, or peeling skin will result in a blotchy, streaky, and uneven tan that fades quickly.

12. I have tan lines. Will a spray tan hide them?

A spray tan can help minimize/blend the appearance of tan lines but I can't promise that they will be totally gone.

Hi everyone! I’m Hannah -- the face behind Yokota Glow.

I’m a proud military spouse of 10 years, and this journey has taken us all over -- from Georgia ➡️ Texas ➡️ California ➡️ Texas ➡️ and now Yokota!

When I’m not spraying tans, you’ll probably see me out walking our two dogs around base or at the dog park 🐾 I’m also a huge book lover (recently converted to a Kindle girl 📖), love a good puzzle, spending time with family, attempting new recipes, exploring new restaurants/coffee shops, and traveling whenever we get the chance.

By career, I am a teacher, but I wanted something that offered the flexibility to move with me. That's how Yokota Glow came to be. I wanted to create something that helps women feel confident, radiant, and taken care of -- no matter how busy life gets. My goal is to give you a flawless, natural glow while also giving you a moment to relax, feel pampered, and leave feeling like your best self.
