Denmark has unveiled a game-changing molten salt battery capable of storing enough energy to power 100,000 homes for 10 hours with an impressive efficiency of up to 90%. This breakthrough, developed by Hyme Energy in collaboration with Sulzer, offers a scalable and sustainable solution to energy storage challenges.
Using molten hydroxide salts, the battery effectively retains heat, which can later be converted into electricity or used directly for industrial applications. Unlike traditional lithium-ion batteries, this system is designed to efficiently store excess renewable energy, helping to balance fluctuations in solar and wind power production.
