Foya University Students Association (FUSA), Capitol Hill, Monrovia, Liberia
October 12, 2026
In a continuing effort to enhance and promote the interests of students, the president of FUSA, accompanied by several executive members, paid a courtesy visit to the esteemed former president of FUSA, Cllr. T. Damacious Saysay, in the Deport Road Community on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
The primary aim of this visit was to engage in a constructive dialogue with Cllr. Saysay, who has established himself as a respected counselor at law. The meeting was attended by various members of the delegation, reflecting a unified commitment to FUSA's mission. During this encounter, President J Fayiah Williams expressed deep appreciation for Cllr. Saysay's leadership and the significant contributions he made during his tenure as president of FUSA. The president delineated the current challenges facing the new leadership and shared a vision for initiatives aimed at overcoming these obstacles.
After attentively listening to the insights of the president, Cllr. Saysay graciously welcomed the FUSA leadership and expressed his gratitude for being acknowledged as a vital member of both FUSA and the broader community. He expressed his enthusiasm for the new leadership's visit, describing it as a positive step forward and committed to providing unwavering support, alongside his wife, to FUSA and the student community using available resources.
In a generous gesture, Mrs. Saysay, whom the delegation regards as the nurturing mother of FUSA, delivered what was pledged to the leadership as a token of their support for the new administration and FUSA as a whole.
It is noteworthy that during the Inauguration and Fundraising events held on July 18, 2026, Cllr. Saysay was invited to attend and pledged his participation. Unfortunately, due to prior commitments, he was unable to attend but promised a contribution, which Mrs. Saysay delivered on his behalf to FUSA leadership.
The president and the delegation expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Saysay and her husband for their generous thoughts and support towards FUSA. They look forward to continued collaboration and support in the future.
The visit was marked by warmth and camaraderie, making it a memorable occasion at Cllr. Saysay's residence.

Updates from the Emergency General Assembly Held on Friday, September 18, 2026
The leadership of the Foya University Students Association (FUSA) extends heartfelt gratitude to all those who attended and actively participated in the recent Emergency General Assembly. Your engagement in meaningful discussions is invaluable, and we also wish to express our hope that those who were unable to attend will join us in future meetings.
The gathering proved to be fruitful, sparking essential conversations aimed at fostering unity within our student community. One of the key outcomes of this assembly was the unanimous agreement to organize the "Foya University Students Conference - 2026", slated for November in Paynesville, Montserrado. This significant event aims to unite students under a common purpose: to discuss themes of unity, peace, and the pursuit of opportunities for students. Further details regarding the Foya Student Conference - 2026 will be shared as they become available.
In addition to the conference, FUSA leadership has initiated a substantial recruitment drive to boost membership across various universities. As part of this effort, we are excited to announce the printing of 100 membership forms, which will be distributed FREE OF CHARGE to sons and daughters from Foya attending universities both in and outside of Montserrado.
The Vice President, Victor S. Koijee, on behalf of the President, has pledged a generous amount of $25,000.00 LRD to support FUSA's activities. This includes $10,000.00 LRD designated for the printing of 100 membership forms and $15,000.00 LRD allocated to aid the budget for the highly anticipated "Foya University Students Conference - 2026"
Moreover, we are pleased to report that 46 students have benefited from the financial aid provided by the FUSA Executive through a fundraising initiative that took place during our inaugural program on July 18, 2026. The funds were allocated to students from the University of Liberia and Apex University of Liberia, with each beneficiary receiving $2,000.00 LRD as direct financial assistance to support their educational endeavors.
The recipients expressed their sincere appreciation to the FUSA Executive for their commitment to advancing student interests and extending support. They also thanked the generous donors who contributed to the fund, thereby reinforcing the importance of community support in education.
In closing, President J. Fayiah Williams, on behalf of the leadership team, commends all students for their cooperation and commitment. He further encourages active participation in FUSA activities and initiatives, emphasizing that engagement is key to unlocking more opportunities for students.
