MoHSS | UPDATE | HPV Vaccine

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), intends to introduce the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine into the National Routine Immunization Schedule in the public sector. The aim is to allow access to this life-saving intervention for the uninsured and remote citizens of Namibia in line with “The Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030)” of which the vision is “A World where everyone, everywhere, at every age fully benefits from vaccines for good health and wellbeing.”

Member States approved WHO Pandemic Agreement in World Health Assembly Committee, paving way for its formal adoption.

This historic agreement was considered for adoption on Tuesday, 20 May 2025, in plenary of the Assembly.

The World Health Organization Member States, met on 20 May 2025, in Committee A of the World Health Assembly, approved a resolution that calls for the adoption of an historic global compact to make the world safer from future pandemics.

Namibia’s Minister of Health and Social Services, Hon. Dr. Esperance Luvindao, is the Chairperson of Committee A of the World Health Assembly.
