You’ve tried the diets, you’ve exercised, you’ve made the effort but the results haven’t lasted.
For some people, diet and exercise alone may not be enough to achieve the level of weight loss needed to improve their health.
Some signs you may need more support include:
- You have tried multiple diets and continue to regain weight
- Your weight has remained difficult to manage despite consistent lifestyle changes
- You experience constant hunger, strong cravings, or difficulty controlling portion
- Your weight is affecting your daily activities, mobility, or confidence
- You have weight-related health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, fatty liver disease, or joint problems
- Your weight is putting your overall health at risk
Obesity is a complex condition and treatment should go beyond simply “eating less and moving more.”
For some individuals, medical weight management or bariatric procedures may provide the additional support needed for meaningful, long-term results.
Have you tried lifestyle changes but still struggling to achieve lasting weight loss?

When people see a transformation like this, they often assume it happened overnight. It didn’t.
This patient made a decision to change her life and gastric sleeve surgery was the tool that helped her get started. But surgery wasn’t the only reason she achieved these results.
She committed to the process, she learned how to eat differently, she completely cut out sodas and alcohol, she stayed as active as she could, even while balancing the demands of school.
And most importantly, she remained consistent when motivation wasn’t always there.
The truth is that gastric sleeve surgery is not magic. It works best when paired with healthier habits and a willingness to make long-term changes.
8 months later, she’s 42kg lighter, healthier, more confident and enjoying the benefits of the effort she put in every single day.
Sustainable weight loss isn’t about being perfect. It’s about making better choices consistently and trusting the process.

A recent video showing a 9-year-old girl undergoing gastric sleeve surgery sparked a lot of debate online.
Many people immediately asked: “Isn’t she too young for that?”
Childhood obesity is a real and serious health challenge, and in some cases, medical intervention may be necessary. However, when it comes to very young children, surgery is not always the first option to consider.
Children are still growing, developing and going through important hormonal and nutritional changes. Any treatment plan should carefully consider their growth, puberty and long-term health.
In this video, Dr. Timi explains why he would not typically perform a gastric sleeve procedure on a 9-year-old and discusses other approaches that can be explored first.
These may include:
- Family-based lifestyle changes
- Nutritional counseling and dietitian support
- Reduced screen time and increased physical activity
- Behavioral and psychological support
- Medical weight management where appropriate
The goal isn’t simply to make the number on the scale go down. The goal is to help a child achieve a healthier future while supporting normal growth and development.

While we love the enthusiasm, becoming a gastric sleeve patient is not something anyone can volunteer for just because they are curious.
There are medical evaluations, BMI requirements, health assessments and several other factors we consider before recommending surgery.
Weight loss surgery is a powerful tool, but it’s not the right option for everyone. That’s why every journey starts with a proper consultation.
Send us a DM to book you an appointment to know if you qualify.

Bariatric surgery changes your stomach, but it also changes how your body absorbs nutrients. And this is the part many people underestimate.
A lot of people think “I’m eating less, so I should be fine.” But after surgery, it’s not just about eating less, your body may no longer absorb vitamins and minerals the same way it used to.
That’s why supplements are not optional after bariatric surgery. They are lifelong support for your health.
When deficiencies happen, your body will let you know.
- Iron deficiency: fatigue, dizziness, headaches, hair loss, weakness
- Vitamin B12 deficiency: brain fog, numbness/tingling, memory issues, low energy
- Calcium + Vitamin D deficiency: weak bones, muscle cramps, joint pain, brittle teeth
- Protein deficiency: muscle loss, weakness, slow healing, hair thinning
- Folate deficiency: fatigue, mouth sores, anemia
- Thiamine (B1) deficiency: nerve damage, confusion, balance problems
You may lose the weight, but without proper supplementation, your health can suffer silently.
Take your supplements. Do your blood work. Keep your follow-ups.
Your long-term health depends on it.
One of the biggest reasons people struggle with weight loss is because they approach it from a place of restriction.
The moment many people hear “calorie deficit,” it starts to feel like punishment. Eat less, cut things out, avoid your favorite foods, constantly count numbers. Over time, that mindset becomes exhausting.
When you feel restricted, food takes up more mental space. You crave the things you’re trying to avoid, meals feel less satisfying and healthy eating becomes harder to sustain.
But sustainable weight loss is not just about eating less, it’s about eating smarter.
Instead of focusing only on what to remove from your meals, focus on what you can add to create better balance. Like protein, fibre, healthy fats and whole foods that keep you full, energized and satisfied.
When meals are balanced, you naturally feel more in control of your hunger, cravings and energy levels without constantly fighting yourself.
Weight loss should not feel like deprivation. It should feel like learning how to nourish your body in a way you can maintain long-term.
So next time you prepare a meal, instead of asking “How can I eat less?” ask yourself:
“What can I add to make this meal more balanced and satisfying?”
That shift in mindset can change everything.

A weight loss plateau is one of the most normal phases of weight loss but it’s also where most people quit.
At first, progress feels exciting. The weight drops, motivation is high, and results come quickly. Then suddenly, the scale stops changing even though you’re still trying. That can feel frustrating.
But a plateau doesn’t mean you’re failing. It usually means your body is adapting. As you lose weight, your body needs fewer calories, your metabolism adjusts, and factors like stress, sleep, hormones, water retention and even routine can affect the scale.
Sometimes progress is still happening, just not in obvious ways.
This is the phase where consistency matters more than motivation.
Instead of quitting, check in with your habits:
- Are you still being mindful with portions?
- Are you sleeping enough?
- Are you managing stress?
- Have your workouts become repetitive?
Also remember, the scale is only one measurement of progress.
You may also be gaining better habits, more strength and stamina, improved confidence and a healthier relationship with food.
Don’t quit during the quiet phase.
Sometimes your body is changing in ways the scale can’t show yet.
