Sometimes, I just watch him. The way he walks in, shoulders slouched, eyes tired like he’s been carrying the whole world. He doesn’t complain. He just drops his bag, forces a smile, and says, “I’m okay.” But I know that kind of silence. The one that hides stress, pressure, and unspoken battles.

I used to get upset. I’d talk non-stop about how he doesn’t check on me enough, how we don’t spend time, how he’s always distant. But one night, I looked at him and realized, this man is tired, not of me, but of life. So I changed. I stopped the complaints, I sat with him in silence. Rubbed his back, gave him warm food and when he laid on my lap, I held him like he was the one breaking.

You see, loving a man isn’t just about taking. Sometimes, it’s knowing when to speak and when to just be there. The world is already hard on him. He doesn’t need more noise, he needs peace. And I chose to be that peace.
