We are professionals with structured medical and community health training.

We undergo: • Accredited training programmes
• National examinations
• Registration with the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria
• Mandatory practising licences
CHEWs are trained to provide preventive, promotive, and basic curative healthcare services, especially at the primary healthcare level.

We are different from Health Assistants.
Unfortunately, the Nigerian health system continues to undervalue and underutilized Community Health Extension Workers despite our critical role in healthcare delivery, especially in rural and underserved communities.

A healthcare system that depends heavily on CHEWs should also recognise, respect, and properly position them professionally.
Nigeria’s health system has failed many dedicated CHEWs.

What is a Hospital 🏥?

It’s a healthcare facility with doctors, nurses, and other health workers.

People are treated for illnesses, injuries, emergencies, and long-term conditions.

Some patients stay overnight (or longer), while others are treated and go home the same day.

What hospitals usually provide:
