Jinboga TV Team Covers APC Members' Protest at Galadima Galkogo Ward, Shiroro Local Government Area

The Jinboga TV team recently covered a protest rally organized by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Galadima Galkogo Ward under Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State. The protest was in reaction to the nomination of a council chairman by the Executive Governor of Niger State, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago.

During the interviews, the protesters expressed deep grievances, stating that the villages under Galadima Galkogo Ward have been marginalized since the return of democracy in 1999. According to them, the community has never produced a council chairman despite their significant contributions to the local government. They also highlighted the severe security challenges they have faced over the years, especially the constant disturbances by bandits, which have made life extremely difficult for residents.

The protesters emphasized that the stakeholders and the Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, had earlier reached a consensus to nominate a candidate from Galadima Galkogo Ward in order to stabilize the zoning system and promote fairness and peace across Shiroro LGA. However, they expressed shock and disappointment over the governor’s decision to choose a different candidate, describing it as a betrayal of their community’s aspirations

Moved by emotion, many of the protesters were seen breaking down in tears as they pleaded passionately for their voices to be heard. They specifically called for the reinstatement of their preferred aspirant, Babangida Wasa Kudodo, whom they believe is capable of bringing peace, unity, and development back to their long-neglected communities.

The rally aimed not only to demand justice but also to advocate for the restoration of peace and proper political representation in Galadima Galkogo Ward.
