A Testimony of Taraba State Government and TSEMA's Humanitarian Touch.

Miracle of Hope: How Taraba State Government and TSEMA Saved Our Children's Lives_

We, the families of Malam Saleh and Mohammed of Nasarawo Culvert community, are compelled to share our incredible stories of gratitude and hope. The Taraba State Government, led by His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas, through the Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA), have demonstrated exceptional kindness and compassion.

Our children faced life-threatening conditions, but thanks to TSEMA's swift and selfless intervention, they have been given a second chance at a healthy life.

Fatima's Journey to Recovery

My 2-year-old daughter, Fatima Saleh, was diagnosed with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and severe complications, including malaria and a persistent cough. Her condition was dire, and it was heartbreaking to witness her struggling to sit, walk, or eat.

Mohammed's Road to Healing

Similarly, my 2-year-old son, Mohammed Umar, suffered from the devastating effects of the flooding. A high fever caused by the flood disaster led to a loss of his sight and hearing.

During the August floods, our community was displaced, and we took refuge at Al'amin Academy. Dr. Echuseh Audu, the Executive Secretary of SEMA, discovered the critical conditions of both Fatima and Mohammed. Without hesitation, Dr. Audu and the TSEMA team facilitated their urgent medical treatment.

Fatima received care at FMC Jalingo, and Mohammed was quickly put on an ongoing treatment with an ophthalmologist/Pediatrician at NOBIS Eye Clinic and FMC Jalingo.

Thanks to this timely and generous support, both children have made remarkable recoveries:

- Fatima has gained weight, regained her strength, and is now able to sit, walk, and eat independently. Her episodes of malaria and cough have significantly decreased.
- Mohammed has shown immense improvement, with his sight and hearing returning.

This selfless act has not only saved our children's lives but has also restored our hope. We are eternally grateful to Dr. Echuseh Audu, the entire TSEMA team, and the Taraba State Government for their unwavering commitment to the well-being of their citizens.

May God bless you all abundantly.

With sincere gratitude.

The Malam Saleh and Umar Families

This partnership was solidified during a recent visit by a high-level delegation from SPDO to SEMA, where they discussed ways to strengthen the state's emergency response framework.

Dr. Echuseh Audu, SEMA's Executive Secretary, expressed gratitude to Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas for his humanitarian spirit and support, which has enabled SEMA to respond effectively to disasters. The governor's commitment to citizens' welfare has been instrumental in SEMA's success.

Mrs. Ejiro Jakpa, SPDO's Program Director, praised SEMA's efficiency, professionalism, and dedication to saving lives and mitigating emergencies. She assured SEMA that the government would provide necessary support to overcome challenges and enhance their capacity to serve the state.

This collaboration marks a new era of partnership between key government bodies in Taraba State, aiming to build a more resilient and prepared state for its residents.
