_DON’T LOSE THE MOMENT_
Monday, June 8th, 2026
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Dsc. Dsc. DD
`And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting… (Daniel 9:3).`
There’re moments when, deep within your spirit, you sense that something ought to change. It may concern your family, your finances, your work, or even your walk with God. You simply know within that the time has come for a new phase, yet the outward circumstances don’t seem to reflect it. Don’t ignore such moments.
The Spirit of God can stir your heart to recognize divine timing. If you fail to respond to that prompting, you may lose the opportunity to step into the next phase or higher level of your walk with God. Daniel gives us a remarkable example of how to respond when you recognize such spiritual timing.
While studying the writings of Jeremiah, he discovered that the seventy years of Israel’s captivity were coming to an end, yet there were no visible signs of deliverance. Instead of ignoring what he knew from the Word, Daniel set his heart to seek the Lord. He prayed and fasted, giving earnest attention to the matter at hand.
For three weeks he continued in prayer until an angel appeared to him with a message from heaven. The angel told him that from the first day he began to pray, his prayers were answered. Daniel refused to abandon what he knew in his spirit and continued to pray until heaven’s response manifested.
This teaches an important lesson: sometimes the Spirit of God stirs your spirit to know that it’s time for a change; when that happens, seize the moment. Pray and fast. If the situation doesn’t seem to have changed immediately, continue steadfastly in prayer.
Persistence in prayer at such times is important for the Bible says, *_“…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]"_* (James 5:16 AMPC). When you recognize spiritual timing and respond with prayer, you position yourself to participate in the fulfillment of God’s will and purpose.
Daniel’s prayers were connected to the unfolding of prophetic events. The message he received revealed that the Persian Empire would fall and be replaced by another kingdom. What began with a man recognizing God’s timing and seizing the moment to pray in alignment with God’s Word became part of the unfolding of God’s eternal plan for His people.
*PRAYER*
> *Dear Father, thank you for the guidance of your Spirit who helps me recognize the times and seasons of my life. I respond with faith and obedience to your Word, aligning myself to pray and see your will fulfilled in my life and in the nations, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

_PRAYER—A CATALYST FOR DIVINE INTERVENTION_
Sunday, June 7th, 2026
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Dsc. Dsc. DD
`...Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words (Daniel 10:12).`
Prayer is a catalyst or spur for divine intervention. When you pray in alignment with God’s Word, you set spiritual forces in motion and connect earthly situations with heavenly responses. Through prayer, God’s purposes are activated and His will is established or caused to manifest in the earth.
A remarkable example of this truth is recorded in Daniel chapter 10. Daniel had been praying and fasting concerning the destiny of Israel. For twenty-one days he continued in prayer, unaware that from the very first day his words had already been heard in heaven. In response to his prayer, an angel was dispatched with the answer.
However, when the angel eventually appeared to Daniel, he explained that although the answer had been released from heaven, the very first day Daniel prayed, he had encountered resistance for twenty-one days from the powers of darkness led by the “prince of Persia.” This reveals an important spiritual reality: even when heaven has responded, there can be opposition in the spirit realm.
But Daniel’s persistence in prayer ensured that the divine purpose prevailed. The angel further explained that Michael, described as the prince assigned to Israel, came to assist in overcoming that resistance. This shows that angelic beings operate with divine assignments connected to nations and peoples, and their ministry often unfolds in response to God’s purposes and the prayers of His people.
At the same time, the Scriptures reveal that angels don’t override human responsibility. Israel had previously fallen into captivity because they had broken God’s covenant. Even though Michael was assigned to them, he couldn’t prevent the consequences of their disobedience.
But when the time of God’s promise arrived and Daniel aligned himself with the Word through prayer, divine intervention was activated. His prayers became the channel through which God’s purpose for Israel began to unfold. This shows the power of prayer that is rooted in the Word.
Therefore, prayer isn’t a routine but a participation in divine purpose: your opportunity to enforce God’s will in the earth. When you have this knowledge and understanding about prayer, you don’t wait for a change; you bring it into manifestation. This makes you an active agent through whom divine purposes are established and fulfilled.
*PRAYER*
> *Dear Father, thank you for the privilege of prayer and the assurance of answers. As I pray in alignment with your Word, your purposes are fulfilled in my life and through me, and your will prevails in the earth, in the nations, and in my situations, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

_THE CHURCH IS BUILT ON CHRIST_
Friday, May 22nd, 2026
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Dsc. Dsc. DD
`And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church…” (Matthew 16:16-18).`
Over the years, many have grossly misunderstood the underlined portion of the scripture above. Some have assumed the “rock” was the revelation Peter gave when he said Jesus was the Christ. Others have even assumed the “rock” was Peter himself. But neither of these is true.
The Lord Jesus was speaking about a Person when He said, “Upon this rock”; He was referring to Himself— Christ! In Greek, the distinction becomes even clearer. The Lord Jesus called Peter “Petrus,” meaning a stone, but He referred to the foundation as “Petra,” meaning a rock, a founding stone.
The Lord is that rock. He wasn’t saying, “Upon this ‘Petrus’ I will build my Church” but “Upon this ‘Petra,’” which is Christ the Rock, a foundation, a sure cornerstone: *_“... Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation...”_* (Isaiah 28:16). Christ had already been known in prophetic writings as the Rock.
So, when Peter said, “Thou art the Christ,” he was declaring that the Lord Jesus was the promised foundation. He was the one spoken of as the sure cornerstone. And the Master responded by revealing the prophetic reality: the Church would be built upon Christ, the Rock, and nothing from hell could prevail against it.
This connects with the prophetic vision in Daniel. Daniel spoke of the stone cut out without hands that struck the image at its feet of iron and clay, and the whole structure collapsed (Daniel 2:34-35). That stone became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
The interpretation was clear: *_“Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth”_* (Daniel 2:35). That's the mountain of the Lord's house.
The stone is Christ, and that mountain is His everlasting dominion. The Church is built on Christ, and because the Church stands firm on Him, the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. This is the certainty of our faith. Christ is our Rock; we’re established on Him forever.
*PRAYER*
> *Dear Father, thank you for the light of your Word and the certainty of the truth revealed in Christ. My faith is established on Christ, the Rock, and the Gospel prevails in every nation, and the righteousness of Christ is established in the hearts of men, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*|| 1 Peter 2:4-6 KJV To whom coming, [as unto] a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, [and] precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. ||*

_USE THE WORD TO JUDGE THE RIGHT COUNSEL_
Thursday, May 21st, 2026
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Dsc. Dsc. DD
`From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day (Matthew 16:21).`
Matthew 16 reveals an important moment between the Lord Jesus and His disciples. After they had been preaching and declaring Him the Christ, the Master began to focus inward, revealing what was to come. He instructed His disciples to keep His identity secret for the time being.
Soon after, He explained that He must go to Jerusalem, suffer many things, be killed, and then raised back to life. Upon hearing all that, Peter did something unbelievable. The Bible says he took the Lord aside *_“…and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee”_* (Matthew 16:22).
Think about that; Peter rebuking the Master. The Lord knew it was Satan who spoke through Peter and addressed Satan directly, saying, *_“…Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men”_* (Matthew 16:23).
Peter, on that occasion, must have been startled, because he wasn’t aware it was the devil who put those words in his mouth. It matters who you’re speaking for. Only give vent to the things that be of God. Never lend your voice in support of Satan.
It’s the reason knowing the Word and having it renew your mind is so important. Let the Word of God dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16). The knowledge of God’s Word makes you discerning; you’re able to judge good from evil and prove (allow) the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). With the light of God’s Word, you’re able to judge what’s coming from you, what’s coming from Satan or what’s coming from God.
*PRAYER*
> *Dear Father, thank you for your Word that gives me understanding and discernment. My heart is established in your truth, and I recognise every thought, voice and influence that is not from you. My knowledge of your Word guides me, and I speak in alignment with your will at all times. I walk in victory, and I live conscious of who I am in Christ. Hallelujah!*

_CUT OFF SATANIC INFLUENCES_
Wednesday, May 20th, 2026
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Dsc. Dsc. DD
`And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus (Acts 13:6).`
Acts 13 gives us a clear picture of how Satan tries to resist the Gospel, especially when it’s about to reach those in positions of leadership. An example is seen in Acts 13:6 when Saul (Paul) and Barnabas went through the Isle of Paphos, preaching the Gospel. The proconsul, Sergius Paulus, whom the Bible describes as “a prudent man,” desired to hear the Word of God and sent for Barnabas and Saul (Acts 13:7). He wanted to know more about Jesus Christ.
But there was someone closely associated with him who wouldn’t let that happen; Acts 13:6-8 the Amplified Classic version reveals it: *_“When they had passed through the entire island of Cyprus as far as Paphos, they came upon a certain Jewish wizard or sorcerer, a false prophet named Bar-Jesus. He was closely associated with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, who was an intelligent and sensible man of sound understanding; he summoned to him Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the Word of God [concerning salvation in the kingdom of God attained through Christ]. But Elymas the wise man--for that is the translation of his name [which he had given himself]--opposed them, seeking to keep the proconsul from accepting the faith.”_* He resisted and tried to stop the leader from receiving the Word.
Then the Bible says, *_“…Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, and said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord”_* (Acts 13:9-10)? Paul wasn’t speaking by suspicion or emotion; he spoke by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He called him who he truly was: a child of the devil, an enemy of all righteousness.
Many world leaders have such people around them who distract them from the truth and keep them from hearing the Word of God. This is why we take our stand in prayer to cut off such influences from the leaders of nations. Every so often, in praying for the leaders of nations, governments and institutions of this world, declare that the counsels of the “Elymases” of this world are frustrated and silenced; cut off their influence from the leaders. Pray that all around the world, the hearts of presidents, kings, governors, lawmakers, and decision-makers are open to hear and receive the Word of God and the Gospel is producing results in their lives.
Pray also that the Spirit grants them discernment to recognise deception, and that righteous influences surround them, creating access for the Gospel to be preached, received freely, and spread rapidly all around the world. Hallelujah!
*CONFESSION*
> *The Word of God prevails in the hearts of leaders and decision makers across the nations today. Every satanic influence to resist the Gospel and turn them away from the truth is cut off by the power of the Holy Spirit. God’s wisdom and righteousness dominate the nations, and His truth is established without resistance, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*
*FURTHER STUDY:*
*|| 1 Timothy 2:1-4 KJV I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and [for] all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. ||*
*|| Acts 13:6-12 NIV They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus, who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith. Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said, "You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord? Now the hand of the Lord is against you. You are going to be blind for a time, not even able to see the light of the sun." Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand. When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord. ||*
