*"January 2026 will shock many Nigerians... the new cash withdrawal law is not smiling."*

*THE TRUTH YOU MUST NOT IGNORE*

Let me shock you today.

From January 1st, 2026, the way Nigerians withdraw money will completely change — and if you don’t understand what is coming, you may wake up one morning and realize your money is inside the bank… but your hand no fit reach am.

Sit down. Let me explain it the same way you’ll explain something to your grandmother under a mango tree.

---

*WHAT DID CBN CHANGE?*

Before now, if you needed plenty cash, you could beg your bank through “special authorization”:

Individuals → ₦5 million monthly

Companies → ₦10 million monthly

CBN has removed that option. Completely.

Here is the new law starting January 1st, 2026:

Individuals

₦500,000 per WEEK max (across all banks)

Anything above → 3% penalty

Companies

₦5 million per WEEK

Anything above → 5% penalty

ATM

₦100,000 per day

₦500,000 per week total

Meaning: even if you have ₦100 million, you cannot freely touch more than ₦500k a week without paying a heavy fine.

And I know the question on your mind:

“Why is CBN doing this?”

Relax, I’ll explain.

---

*THE REAL REASON BEHIND THIS POLICY*

Think of a village where everybody carries cash everywhere — market, church, bus stop.
Robbery rises. Fake money spreads. Chaos everywhere.

The elders wake up one day and say:

“Keep your money in the bank. Use transfer. Reduce cash movement.”

That is exactly what CBN is trying to do.

They want to:

Reduce the cost of printing cash

Cut money laundering

Push Nigerians into digital payments

Improve transparency

Control how cash circulates in the economy

In short:

“If you love cash too much… prepare to pay for that lifestyle.”

---

*WHO THIS POLICY WILL HIT THE MOST*

Brace yourself — because some people will feel this like thunder:

Cash-only business owners

POS operators with heavy volume

Traders who avoid tax

Market women not banking properly

People hiding money from
