"One thing that quietly destroys many dreams in catfish farming is trying to achieve in six months what normally takes years to build.

Many new farmers are not really looking for a business.

They are looking for one miracle investment that will turn a few hundred thousand naira into millions overnight.

And honestly, we understand why.

Life is expensive.

Responsibilities are many.

There are mouths to feed. Bills to settle. Dreams waiting to become reality.

So it is easy to begin hoping for one big breakthrough that changes everything at once. 🙏

But if there is one thing life teaches us, it is this:

Anything that promises huge rewards overnight usually carries huge dangers too.

And if you look around carefully, you will notice something beautiful.

The people who built things that lasted did not build them in days.

They built them in years.

The same is true in catfish farming.

The farmer who is celebrating today was once the farmer struggling to understand feeding.

The farmer who now harvests thousands of kilograms was once the farmer worrying over a few hundred fish.

The difference is that they kept building.

One lesson.

One cycle.

One improvement.

One customer.

One step at a time. 💪

That is why, as small-scale catfish farmers, we must learn to think differently.

Not, "How do I become rich in the next three months?"

But rather:

"What can I build over the next three years?"

That question changes everything.

Because suddenly, learning becomes easier.

Mistakes no longer feel like the end.

Progress becomes more important than speed.

And instead of chasing shadows, you begin building something real.

The truth is, most dreams are possible.

The peaceful home.

The day harvest money comes in and the pressure in your chest disappears.

The joy of seeing your children settled and your responsibilities handled without fear.

The day you quietly smile and say, "Thank God I did not give up."

Those dreams are possible.

But they usually need a bigger time frame than we first imagine.

We know this because we are walking the same journey.

We are also small-scale farmers.

And one thing we have learned is this:

Profitable catfish farming is not built by thinking in days.

It is built by thinking in years.

The Sabii Farmer understands that today's effort is planting tomorrow's harvest.

He does not despise small beginnings.

He keeps learning.

He keeps improving.

He keeps showing up.

Because he knows that a few years of steady growth can produce what years of wishful thinking never will.

So if things are not yet where you want them to be, do not mistake slow progress for failure".........Courtesy: Sabii Farmers
