How High Prolactin Affects Fertility In Women

High prolactin (hyperprolactinemia) causes infertility primarily by disrupting the hormones required for ovulation. It suppresses Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), halting the release of FSH and LH. Without these hormones, eggs do not mature, ovulation fails to occur, periods become irregular, and the uterine lining cannot properly prepare for pregnancy.
