Process Overview (Surface Preparation to In-Situ Laminated System):
1️⃣ Surface Preparation
Mechanical profiling via abrasive blasting to Sa 2.5 standard (or equivalent grinding for concrete substrates), followed by solvent degreasing and removal of all contaminants, laitance, and residual dust to achieve optimal surface roughness and cleanliness for interfacial bond strength.
2️⃣ Primer Application
Application of a high-build, corrosion-inhibiting epoxy or vinyl ester primer, formulated for maximum adhesion and cathodic disbondment resistance on metallic or concrete substrates.
3️⃣ Fiber Reinforcement Placement

Additive Surface Felting (ASF) is an advanced composite repair technique used to restore and strengthen damaged pipelines, pressure vessels, storage tanks, and other industrial assets. The process begins with thorough surface preparation and inspection to ensure the repair area is clean and free from contaminants. An epoxy primer is then applied to improve adhesion and protect the surface. Afterward, resin and hardener are mixed according to specification, and fiber felt is fully saturated with the resin system before being applied to the prepared surface.

Multiple layers of the wetted fiber felt are laminated to achieve the required thickness and structural strength. The layers are consolidated to remove trapped air and ensure proper bonding between the composite material and the substrate. Once the application is complete, the repair is allowed to cure before undergoing a final inspection to verify thickness, adhesion, and overall repair quality.

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) is a widely used non-destructive testing method for detecting surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials such as steel and iron. The process begins with proper surface preparation, where dirt, rust, oil, grease, and other contaminants are removed to ensure accurate inspection. A magnetic yoke is then placed on the test area and energized to magnetize the component. Once magnetized, magnetic particles are applied to the surface, either as dry powder or a wet suspension.

Any discontinuities, such as cracks, seams, laps, or inclusions, cause magnetic flux leakage, attracting the particles and forming visible indications. These indications are carefully examined under adequate lighting conditions, while fluorescent particles, if used, are inspected under ultraviolet (UV) light for enhanced visibility. After the inspection, the component is demagnetized to remove any residual magnetism and cleaned to eliminate remaining particles. Finally, all observations and results are documented in an inspection report, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and quality requirements.
