WHY SOME OILS MOISTURIZE WHILE OTHERS ONLY COAT THE HAIR

Here's something that will save you from making bad haircare formulations

Stop treating all oils as if they do the same thing, they don't
Some oils have a greater ability to pe*****te the hair fibre
Others primarily remain on or near the surface.

Coconut oil, for example, can pe*****te the hair and help reduce protein loss

Castor oil is much less penetrating and is useful for things like shine, lubrication and reducing friction.

Making hair feel smoother isn't the same thing as adding water to it and making hair shiny isn't the same thing as fixing dryness.

If you want to formulate professionally, you need to understand ingredient function, compatibility, formulation structure and why you're putting each ingredient into your product.
