“Majority vote does not automatically make an interpretation constitutional.”
The Senate, sitting as an impeachment court, has made its decision on the conviction threshold. Is it within its authority as the impeachment court?
But the bigger question remains—does that interpretation conform to the Constitution?
The Constitution says conviction requires the concurrence of two-thirds of ALL the Members of the Senate. If the Senate adopts an interpretation that changes how “all the Members” is counted, then that is no longer simply a matter of parliamentary arithmetic. It is a constitutional question.
And constitutional questions should ultimately be settled by the Supreme Court—not by whoever happens to have the numbers inside the chamber.
If the affected party chooses to bring that question before the Supreme Court, then let the High Court decide whether the Senate’s interpretation is consistent with the fundamental law.
I hope to be proven wrong, kasi the way I see it, because of the race to become a member of the Gods of Padre Faura, naging bulag na ang hustisya sa Pilipinas.

At the end of the day, positions in government are temporary. The Constitution is not.

Tiniyak ni Defense Lead Counsel Atty. Sheila Sison na hindi natatakot si Vice President Sara Duterte sa magiging resulta ng kanyang impeachment trial.
Ayon kay Atty. Sison, bagamat handa silang dumaan sa proseso at hindi tumatalikod sa pananagutan, ang tanging hiling nila ay ang patas at makatarungang paglilitis alinsunod sa Konstitusyon.
Aniya, "Let it be clear that the respondent does not shrink from accountability, nor does she fear the outcome of this impeachment trial. She asks for nothing spectacular from this court, only the most essential and basic guarantees due to every individual: fairness and impartiality."

ITSURA NG TINAMAAN NG FAIRNESS AND IMPARTIALITY OHH!!
ATTY. POA: 2/3 SUPERMAJORITY, PANANGGA LABAN SA PANG-AABUSO SA IMPEACHMENT
Iginiit ni Atty. Poa ng defense team ni Vice President Sara Duterte na ang **two-thirds supermajority requirement** sa impeachment ay nagsisilbing constitutional safeguard upang hindi basta-basta maalis sa puwesto ang matataas na opisyal ng bansa dahil lamang sa pagbabago ng political majority sa impeachment court.
Ayon kay Poa, proteksyon din ito para sa mga senator-judges. Aniya, kung magbabago ang denominator dahil lamang sa pagliban ng ilang senador, maaari umanong magkaroon ng pagkakataong gamitin ang mga kaso, pagbabanta o iba pang paraan upang maimpluwensiyahan ang attendance at resulta ng impeachment proceeding
Sa kanyang pagtatapos, sinabi ni Poa na maaaring magbago ang political alliances at majority, ngunit nananatiling dapat sundin ang Konstitusyon.

Madam Korina Sanchez-Roxas, eto sa akin din lang opinyon to ha. Kung ang tingin mo sa progreso ay puro sosyalan, high-rise buildings, malls at party-party, dyan ka na lang sa sosyalan ninyo.
Dito sa Davao, ang pinag-uusapan namin ay kung gumagana ang gobyerno para sa ordinaryong tao—911, emergency response, peace and order, health services, disaster response, roads and basic public services.
Hindi kailangang maging kopya ng Makati o BGC ang Davao para masabing umuunlad. At hindi rin nasusukat ang progreso ng isang lungsod sa dami ng Ayala o Megaworld projects.
NAPAG-IWANAN? Hangover ka pa ata sa last ch*****ne party niyo ah. FYI lang madam, ang ekonomiya ng Davao City ang pinakamalaking ekonomiya sa Mindanao at Visayas at 601.68 billion pesos.
Kung gusto mong punahin ang Davao, go ahead. Pero sana ang sukatan ay serbisyo sa tao, hindi kung gaano karaming party ang nadaluhan o kung gaano karaming sosyal na establishment ang nakita mo.
Dito sa Davao, magandang ekonomiya at trabaho ang hanap namin—not applause from Manila.
Mas mahalaga sa amin ang opinyon ng aming kapwa Dabawenyo at hindi ng mga ipokritang socialite na mga kakilala niyo…

Hindi. Kasabay nito ang pamasahe, pagkain, delivery, at iba pang bilihin.
Mas mahal ang buhay, pero pareho pa rin ang sweldo.
Mas nagtatrabaho. Mas kaunti ang naiipon. Mas kaunti ang oras para sa pamilya.
Kaya hindi na lang: “Paano ko ito kakayanin?”
Minsan, nagiging: “Worth it pa bang manatili rito?”
Hindi dahil ayaw ng Pilipino sa sariling bansa.
Minsan, umaalis sila dahil gusto lang nilang magkaroon ng mas magandang buhay.
At nakakapagod nang magpanggap na okay pa ang lahat.
