Sa bisa ng 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟏𝟑𝟒, 𝐬. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, idineklara ang araw na ito bilang 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐲 upang mabigyan ang mga San Pableño ng ganap na pagkakataong makibahagi at ipagdiwang ang ika-86 na Charter Anniversary ng lungsod (𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘕𝘰. 1134, 2026).

Itinatampok ng pagdiriwang na ito ang makasaysayang pagkakatatag ng San Pablo bilang isang chartered city noong 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨 𝟕, 𝟏𝟗𝟒𝟎, sa bisa ng 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐨. 𝟓𝟐𝟎, na kilala rin bilang 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐨. Sa naturang batas, opisyal na nilikha ang Lungsod ng San Pablo mula sa dating munisipalidad nito sa Lalawigan ng Laguna (𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘈𝘤𝘵 𝘕𝘰. 520, 1940). Mula rito, mas naging matibay ang pagkakakilanlan ng San Pablo bilang isang lungsod na may sariling kasaysayan, pamayanan, at ambag sa lalawigan ng Laguna.

Sa paggunita sa mahalagang araw na ito, ipinapaabot natin ang taos-pusong pasasalamat sa bawat San Pableño na patuloy na nagbibigay-buhay sa lungsod. Magmula sa mga pamilyang bumubuo ng ating mga barangay, mga mag-aaral at g**o na humuhubog sa kinabukasan, mga manggagawa at maliliit na negosyanteng patuloy na nagbibigay serbisyo, hanggang sa mga kawani at lingkod-bayan na nagsusumikap para sa kapakanan ng komunidad.

Ang San Pablo ay higit pa sa pagiging kilala bilang 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐨𝐝 𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐚. Sa likas na ganda ng 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘤, 𝘉𝘶𝘯𝘰𝘵, 𝘗𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘬𝘱𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯, 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯, 𝘠𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘰, 𝘔𝘶𝘩𝘪𝘬𝘢𝘱, 𝘢𝘵 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘰, masasalamin ang yaman ng lungsod na hindi lamang matatagpuan sa tanawin, kundi maging sa kultura, kabuhayan, pananampalataya, at pagkakaisa ng mamamayan nito (𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘰, 2019). Sa bawat lawa, lansangan, paaralan, pamilihan, simbahan, tahanan, at barangay, makikita ang kuwento ng isang lungsod na patuloy na umuunlad sa pamamagitan ng sipag, tiyaga, at malasakit ng bawat San Pableño.

Sa araw na ito, nararapat lamang na kilalanin ang ambag ng bawat isa sa patuloy na paghubog ng San Pablo. Magmula sa mga naunang henerasyong naglatag ng pundasyon ng lungsod, ang kasalukuyang mamamayang araw-araw na nagsisilbi, naghahanapbuhay, nagtuturo, nag-aaral, at nag-aambag sa komunidad, at ang kabataang magpapatuloy ng pangarap para sa mas maunlad, makatao, at isang kinabukasang may malasakit. Ang pagdiriwang na ito ay hindi lamang pag-alala sa nakaraan, kundi pagkilala rin sa buhay na diwa ng San Pablo sa kasalukuyan.

Nawa’y magsilbi ang pagdiriwang na ito bilang paalala na ang tunay na yaman ng San Pablo ay hindi lamang matatagpuan sa likas nitong ganda, kundi sa puso ng bawat San Pableñong may pagmamahal sa bayan, malasakit sa kapwa, at pagnanais na makita ang lungsod na patuloy na umuunlad.
