EPI-SINDH | Strengthening Immunization Services in District Sujawal
Under the guidance of Dr. Raj Kumar, Project Director EPI Sindh, a joint monitoring and coordination visit was conducted in District Sujawal by EPI Sindh, UNICEF, and JSI to review ongoing immunization strengthening initiatives and health facility refurbishment activities.
The delegation, including Dr. M. Hanif Memon (DHO Sujawal), Dr. Arslan Memon (Deputy Director EPI Sindh), Mr. Muzaffar Ahmed (PD Office Karachi), Dr. Ahmed Laghari (JSI), and Mr. Fahad Fehmi (UNICEF), participated in the EPI Vaccinator Training session and visited key health facilities across the district.
The team reviewed refurbishment progress at BHU Qadir Dino Shah and DHQ Sujawal EPI Centre, held coordination discussions with PPHI Sujawal, and visited the Model EPI Centre Nodo Baran, where previously identified gaps have been successfully addressed.
These efforts reflect EPI Sindh's continued commitment to strengthening routine immunization services, improving health infrastructure, and ensuring equitable access to life-saving vaccines for every child and mother across Sindh.

EPI-Sindh | Inauguration of EPI Model Vaccination Centre at NICH Karachi!
With financial assistance from Gavi, WHO, and the Government of Sindh, a WHO-supported Model Vaccination Centre was inaugurated at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Karachi, to strengthen routine immunization services and serve an estimated 2.5 million people.
The Honourable Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Minister for Health and Population Welfare, Government of Sindh, inaugurated the EPI Model Vaccination Centre on 16 June 2026 in the presence of WHO representatives, Dr. Raj Kumar, Project Director EPI Sindh, Dr. Sohail Raza Shaikh, Additional Project Director EPI Sindh, and members of the EPI Sindh Core Team.
Established through the collaboration of WHO and EPI Sindh, the Model Vaccination Centre aims to improve access to life-saving vaccines for children and mothers while enhancing the quality of routine immunization services across Karachi.
The inauguration reflects the continued commitment of the Government of Sindh, WHO, Gavi, and EPI Sindh to ensuring equitable access to immunization and protecting communities from vaccine-preventable diseases.
Our goal: Bringing life-saving vaccines to every child and mother.
Together, we are advancing a healthier, safer future through immunization.

*EPI-Sindh | Gavi Mission Field Visit to District Thatta!*
A high-level field monitoring visit was conducted in District Thatta on 15 June 2026 under the leadership of the worthy *Dr. Raj Kumar, Project Director EPI Sindh,**accompanied by the Gavi Mission delegation comprising *Ms. Carrie Gheen (Senior Country Manager), Mr. Craig Beyerinck (Senior Program Manager), and Mr. Ibrahim Muhammad.*
The delegation was joined by Dr. Tariq Masood (Liaison Officer), Dr. Safdar Shah (DHO Thatta), Dr. Zareef and Dr. Ahsan Bhurgri (Gates Foundation), and the AKUH team including Dr. Sajid Soofi and Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed, along with district health officials.
The team monitored Routine Immunization services at THQ Sakro/Shaikh Zayed Medical Center, observed an outreach vaccination session at Village Rashid Tebari, UC Sakro, Mirpur Sakro, and visited RHC Gharo to review service delivery, vaccine management, community outreach, and the implementation of immunization activities under the Government of Sindh and SNIP collaboration project.
The visit reaffirmed the commitment of EPI Sindh and its partners to strengthening routine immunization services and ensuring equitable access to life-saving vaccines for every child across Sindh.

EPI-Sindh Strengthening Immunization Capacity in Sindh!
The second batch of the EPI Vaccinator Training was conducted in District Sujawal under the Health System Strengthening Initiative, organized by EPI Sindh with technical support from JSI.
The training session was inaugurated by Dr. Arslan Memon, Deputy Director EPI Sindh, and attended by EPI vaccinators from across the district. Technical facilitation was provided by experts from EPI Directorate Sindh, WHO, and UNICEF.
The training focused on strengthening key components of Routine Immunization, including immunization service delivery, microplanning, vaccine and cold chain management, data quality, and community engagement to improve vaccination coverage and service quality.
The session concluded with closing remarks by Dr. M. Hanif Memon, DHO Sujawal, who appreciated the efforts of EPI Sindh and partners in building the capacity of frontline vaccinators.
Together, we are strengthening the immunization workforce and ensuring every child is protected through quality vaccination services.

*EPI-Sindh Strengthening Partnerships for Improved Immunization Services!

The meeting focused on ongoing Health System Strengthening initiatives and collaborative interventions being implemented in Districts Sujawal and Umerkot to improve routine immunization performance, strengthen service delivery, enhance data quality, and build the capacity of frontline health workers.

*EPI-Sindh Provincial CSO Review Meeting!*
A Provincial CSOs Review Meeting was held at EPI Sindh Hall under the supervision of worthy *Dr. Khalilullah Memon** Deputy Project Director EPI Sindh with participation *EPI Core team Dr. Tariq Masood (Gavi) and Dr. Ahsanullah Burgari(BMGF) & EPI's Conscultants.*
Representatives from CSOs, Shifa Foundation, HELP, Indus Hospital & Health Network, Vital Pakistan Trust, Jhpiego, and AMAN Foundation participated in the meeting to review progress on Routine Immunization, HPV vaccine integration, community engagement, and efforts to reach zero-dose children across Sindh.

As per the directives of the Worthy Dr. Raj Kumar, Project Director EPI Sindh, and under the supervision of the worthy *Dr. Sohail Raza Sheikh, Additional Project Director EPI Sindh**provincial monitoring teams conducted supportive supervision visits across Karachi Division on 03 June 2026.

The monitoring exercise focused on assessing routine immunization service delivery, vaccine management, cold chain maintenance, immunization safety, record keeping, outreach implementation, and community engagement.
Debriefing meetings: were held with District Health Management Teams to discuss findings and recommend corrective actions for strengthening routine immunization services.
EPI-Sindh remains committed to improving immunization coverage and ensuring quality vaccination services for every child across Sindh.

*EPI-Sindh | Khuli Kacheri with Vaccinators – District Badin!*
Under the leadership of *Dr. Raj Kumar, Project Director EPI Sindh,* along with Dr. Sohail Raza Shaikh, Additional PD-EPI Sindh, a Khuli Kacheri with Vaccinators was held at Gymkhana Restaurant, Badin, to review Routine Immunization performance and address field-level operational challenges.
The session was attended by Dr. Zahoor Abbas (DHO Badin), Dr. Arslan Memon (Deputy Director EPI Sindh), representatives from UNICEF, WHO, and BMGF, along with EPI Core Team members, TSVs, DSVs, and frontline vaccinators.
During the session, Project Director EPI Sindh Dr. Raj Kumar conducted an interactive question-and-answer session with vaccinators, listened to field-level concerns, and addressed operational challenges related to Routine Immunization activities.
In recognition of outstanding field performance, appreciation certificates were also distributed to best-performing vaccinators for their dedicated services and contributions toward strengthening immunization coverage in District Badin.
The discussion focused on strengthening Routine Immunization services, improving outreach implementation, enhancing supportive supervision, and accelerating collective efforts to protect every child through timely vaccination across Sindh.
