Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) – Phase I*
*14–19 September 2026 | 35 Priority UCs*

Under the leadership and supervision of *Dr. Raj Kumar, Project Director, EPI Sindh,* and in collaboration with UNICEF, EPI Sindh implemented Phase I of the Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) activity from 14–19 September 2026 across 35 priority Union Councils of Sindh, with support under the Gavi activity plan.

*The initiative focused on reaching zero-dose children, defaulters, refusal families and underserved communities, bringing routine immunization and integrated health services closer to families.*

1. From urban slums and katchi abadis to nomadic settlements, riverine belts, desert areas and other hard-to-reach communities, dedicated teams worked at community level to improve access to essential services.
2. Integrated services included routine immunization, outreach vaccination, community mobilization, awareness sessions for mothers and fathers, nutrition support, antenatal services and Td vaccination at selected sites.
3. From travelling by boat to reach riverine communities in Sukkur to serving desert settlements, urban slums and nomadic populations, ISD teams worked to extend essential immunization and health services to communities facing access barriers.
4. Activities were conducted across priority UCs in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Larkana and Shaheed Benazirabad, bringing together vaccination teams, social mobilizers, nutrition staff and community workers.

Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) Phase-I – Day 2!*

*Reaching Every Child, Strengthening Services Across Communities*

On 15 September 2026, Day 2 of Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) Phase-I continued across Karachi and Hyderabad, with teams actively delivering immunization, social mobilization and integrated health services, particularly for missed, mobile, underserved and hard-to-reach communities.

*1. UC-09 Jacob Lines, District East, Karachi*
District Health Officer Dr. Ashique Hussain Shah visited the ISD team, where Dr. Sidra Saleem, EPI Focal Person UC-09, was present with field staff. Social mobilization for routine immunization and polio was underway. The DHO appreciated the team's efforts and emphasized strengthening community engagement to address refusals and reach missed children.

*2. UC-04 Qasimabad, Hyderabad*
Monitoring and field activities continued at Katchi Abadi near Indus CNG, with particular attention to highway nomad and underserved communities. Teams worked to improve access to essential immunization and integrated health services for populations that can otherwise be difficult to reach.

*UC-06, Hyderabad*
An outreach session was conducted at Goth Hamirani and Goth Major Liaquat, with the participation of the UC medical officer, nutrition staff, social mobilizer and vaccinator, supported through field supervision.

*UC Civil Lines, Hijrat Colony, District South, Karachi*
ISD field activities and community engagement continued, including community briefing on the importance of immunization and efforts to connect eligible children and families with essential services.

Through strengthened field supervision, community mobilization and targeted outreach, EPI Sindh remains committed to reaching missed and underserved populations and ensuring that every eligible child has access to life-saving immunization services.

*EPI-Sindh | Implementation of Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) Phase!

*Bringing essential health services closer to every child, every mother and every community.*

Under the leadership and supervision of the Worthy *Dr. Raj Kumar, Project Director, EPI Sindh,**and in collaboration with UNICEF, Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) Phase-I commenced on 14 September 2026 across selected Union Councils of Sindh.

From urban settlements to underserved and mobile communities, dedicated ISD teams are reaching families at their doorstep with routine immunization, nutrition, maternal and child health, and other essential health services with special attention to children who are missed or have defaulted on vaccination.

*On Day 1, activities were reported across Karachi East, Central, South, Keamari and Malir, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas. In Karachi East, teams reached communities in Gulzar-e-Hijri, Safoora and Jacob Lines, including Shar Goth and highway nomad communities.*

Vaccinators, Nutrition Assistants, Lady Health Workers and physicians are working side by side with one shared mission: no eligible child and no vulnerable community should be left behind.

ISD Phase-I continues from 14–20 September 2026, bringing integrated healthcare closer to the people who need it most.

*EPI-Sindh | Strengthening Immunization & VPD Surveillance Across Sindh!*

EPI-Sindh, Government of Sindh, in collaboration with WHO, conducted an Orientation Session for EPI & VPD Surveillance Field Reviewers on 3 September 2026, ahead of the provincial field review scheduled for 8–11 September 2026.

The session was led by the worth y *Dr. Raj Kumar, Project Director EPI Sindh; Dr. Suhail Raza Sheikh, Additional Project Director EPI-Sindh;**Dr. Khalil Memon, Deputy Director EPI-Sindh; Dr. Arslan Memon; *Dr. Mukhtiar Bhayo, Head of Sub-Office WHO;* and Dr. Waqar Soomro, NPO WHO EPI Sindh, with participation from District Focal Persons, District Surveillance Officers, WHO Divisional Officers, and health professionals from across Sindh.

The orientation reinforced a coordinated and evidence-based approach to strengthening immunization services and VPD surveillance systems across Sindh.

*HPV AWARENESS AND VACCINATION SESSION*

*NJV School District South*

*An HPV awareness and vaccination session was conducted on 1st Sep 2026 at NJV School District South on the direction of *Dr. Ubedullah Sheikh, District Health Officer South*

The session was led by ADHO Curative Dr. Rehana Soomro, in collaboration with Dr. Asima Niazi, Dr. Shazma, and Vaccinator Sana.

*Session Details*

The program was attended by eligible students and their parents. A comprehensive awareness session was conducted to educate participants about the importance of HPV vaccination as a preventive health measure. This was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, where all queries and concerns from parents and students were thoroughly addressed and clarified.

*Vaccination Outcomes*

Following the awareness session, 5 eligible students were successfully vaccinated. Additional eligible students will be vaccinated upon obtaining formal parental consent.

The school administration demonstrated full cooperation and support in facilitating this important health initiative.
